My invention relates to a toilet structure for bath rooms or the like.
An important object of the invention is to provide a toilet structureof the above mentioned character, wherein a bath tub, flush tank, lavatory bowl, and commode bowl are assembled to provide a unit, which is compact and convenient in use.
A further object of the invention is to provide a fixture unit which may be securelyattached to the'tub and the commode bowl, and which will avoid manufacturing hazards.
A further object of the invention is to provide a fixture unit of the above mentioned character, which will support the ush tankand lavatory bowl unit. e
A further object of the invention is to provide a fixture unit of the above mentioned character, which 'will provide a counter vent and will meet the requirements of plumbingcodes throughout the country. v
A further object of the invention is to provide a fixture unit of the, above mentioned character, which may be used in connection with right or left tubs, and will also provide clean-out plugs.
A further object of the invention. is to provide a xture unit of theabove mentioned character, having a trap which is commento the drain of the commode bowl, the overflow ofthe tub, and the drain of the lavatory bowl.

In the drawings, wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, the numeral I designates a tub, having a skirt II extending down to the floor. This tub is of the usual size for bathing and includes a foot portion having a Vertical end wall I2, and an inclined lower portion I3.
A unit or casting is provided including a flush tank III and a lavatory bowl I5, and this unit is l mounted above and upon the foot end ofthe tub Iii, and extends longitudinally beyond the same. This unit includes a depending skirt Iii, engaging with or supported by the upper edge of the tub. The outer side of the skirt I6 is cut away, providing an opening I6', covered by a door Il.
I provide ya fixture unit I'I comprising an upper flush pipe I8 and a lower drain pipe I9. The pipe I8 has a curved portion 20 and thepipe I9 has a curved portion 2|, and these curved portions are preferably formed integral with each other and with a flange or disk 22, and reenforcing webs 22 andl 23', as shown. The opening of the curved portion 20 and the openingof the curved portion- 2l extendV through the face of the ilange 22, as shown. IThe fixture unit further comprisesv a trap-23, arranged upon the forward side of the vertical drain pipe I9,"and preferably formed integral therewith. This trap is arranged beneath the inclined bottom portion i3 of the tub. This trap includes a partition or web 24, to provide a water seal, and the trap hascommunication with the interior of the drain pipeS through anopening 25. Tubular bosses ,I 2G and'Z'Ilead into thebottom of the trap, upon its opposite sides and beneath thepartition 24, while tubular bosses 28 and 29 lead into the top of the trap, upon its opposite sides, rearwardly of the partition y211i, and above the opening 25. Formed integral with the intake or forward end of the trap 23 is a tubular horizontal arm 3U, havingV openings 3l in its top and bottom.- Formed integral with the vertical flush pipe- I8, near .its upper end, are horizontal rods or lugs diametrically oppositely arranged. f l The vertical end wall I2 of the tube is provided at its .top with downwardly facing hooks 33, rigidly secured thereto, and these hooks receive therein the lugs 32, and securely attach the upper end of the flushV pipe with the tub. The'spud end or tubular extension 34 which is rigidly secured'to the bottom ofthe flush tank and through-which the water discharges from the ush tank, extends into the upper end of the flush pipe I8. There is a clamping nut 35, having screw threaded engagement with the tubular extension 34, and clamping a cork washer to the upper end of the flush pipe I8, for forming a gas tight joint. At its bottom, adjacent to the wall I3, the tub has a tubular drain cage 31 in its drain opening and this drain cage has its top iianged and the cage extends through the openings 3| in the tubular arm 3B and has openings 38 for the escape of the water into the tubular arm 39. The top of the cage is open while its bottom is closed and the lower portion of the cage is threaded, at 39, for receiving a clamping nut 43. The cage therefore serves to rigidly attach the tubular arm with the bottom of the tub. Y
The numeral 4l designates a commode bowl, arranged transversely of the tub and having a flange 42, secured tothe flange 22 by bolts 43.
This bowl has a partition 44 forming a water seal or trap, and a water inlet 45 for receiving the water from the ilush pipe 8.
The tubular boss 25 has its screw threaded plug removed and receives therein one end of the drain pipe 4'6, which leads to the overiiow 41 of the tub, and has connection with a drain pipe 48, leading to the drain 49 of the lavatory bowl l5. The companion tubular boss 21vhas its screw` threaded plug 5U held therein.4 The screw threaded tubular boss 28 has its plug 5l held therein, while the corresponding plug is removed from the tubular boss 29 and a cross vent pipe 52 leads into the tubular boss 29. Y
At its bottom, the xture unit is belled, as shown at 53, and has a groove 54, for putty or packing, as ordinarily employed in stool installation. The iiush tank I4 is provided with the usual flush valve or ball to control the passage of water through the flush pipe |78, the bowl l5 has the usual drain valve, and the tub the usual overflow outlet. The usualmeans are employed to supply water to the flush tank, lavatory bowl and tub.
The fixture unit is illustrated as applied to a left tub. The fixture unitmay also be applied to a right tub, in which event the xture unitwould be reversed, the pipe 48 would be connected with the tubular boss 21 and the tubular boss 26 closed, while the pipe 52 would be connected with the tubular boss 28 and the tubular boss 29,closed. The plugs 50 and 5l may also `serve as clean-out plugs, as they may be` removed to provide openings leading to the trap.
It is thus seen that the nxture unit is securely attached to the tub at the top and bottom of the tub, and its lower end rests upon theoor, and will securely support the commode bowl and the flush tank and lavatory Vbowl unit, from the floor, The xture unit will also support the rear 'endof the lavatory bowl and iiush tank unit. `Since the trap 23 is common to the drain of the Jlavatory bowl and the overflow of the tub, one trap is eliminated, as two traps are ordinarily employed.
It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as a preferred example of the sameand that various` changes in the` shape, size, 'and arrangement of parts, may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit of my jinventionlor the scope of the subjoined claims. l Y
Having thus described my'invention, what is claimed is: i
`l. In a toilet structure; a tub having Aa drain* opening in its bottom and an overflow; a flush tank and lavatory bowl mounted upon the tub near the drain opening; a fixture unit including an upper ush pipe, a lower drain pipe, a flange connecting the adjacent inner ends of such pipes, a trap arranged upon one side of the drain pipe and secured thereto and discharging into the drain pipe, and a tubular arm connected with the trap and having openings in its top and bottom, the bottom of the fixture being adapted to rest upon the floor; a tubular cage mounted within the drain opening of the tub and extending through the openings in the top and bottom of the tubular arm and serving to connect the tubular arm with the bottom of the tub; a commode bowl having a trap and a .flange attached to the first named flange; a drain pipe for the lavatory bowl; an overow pipe for the tub, said overflow pipe being connected with the lavatory bowl drain pipe and leading into the lower portion of the trap; and a vent pipe leading into the top of the trap, said vent pipe serving to vent the trap and the drain pipen of the commode bowl.
2. In a toilet structure; a tub having a drain opening in its bottom and an overflow; a flush tank and lavatory bowl mounted upon the tub near the drain opening; a fixture unit including an upper flush pipe, a lower drain pipe, a flange connecting the adjacent inner ends of such pipes, a trap arranged upon one side oi the drain pipe and secured thereto and having its upper portion in communication with the drain pipe, and a tubular arm connected with the trap and having an opening in its top, the bottom of the fixture unit being adapted to rest upon the floor; a tubular cage mounted within the drain opening of the tub and extending through the opening in the top of the tubular arm and serving to connect the tubular arm with the bottom of the tub; means for attaching the upper portion of the flush pipe with the tub; a commode bowl having a trap and a ange attached to the iirst named ange; an overflow pipe for the tube leading into the lower portion of the trap; a drain pipe for the lavatory V bowl leading 4into the overilow piper; and a Vent pipe leadingintothe top of the trap, said vent pipe serving to vent the trap and the drain pipe of the commode bowl.
3. In a toilet fixtiue;` a tub having a drain opening in its bottom and an overflow near its end; downwardly facing spaced hooks secured to said end of the tub nearits top; a flush tank and lavatory bowl mounted upon the tub near the drain opening; a ixture unit including an upper flush pipe for the` flush tank, a lower drain pipe for a commode bowl, a flange connecting the adu jacent inner ends of such pipes, a trap arranged upon one side of the drain pipe and secured thereto 'and having its upper portion in conimunication with the drain pipe, a tubulaiarm connected with the upper portion of the trap and having an vopening in its top, lugs secured to the upper end of vthe flush pipe to engage within the hooks, the bottom of the xture unit being adapted to rest upon the floor; a tubular cage mounted within -the drain opening of the tub and extend-ing through the opening in the top of the tubular arm and serving to connect the tubular arm with the bottom oi` the tub; a commode bowl having a trap and a flange attached to the rst named ange, the commode bowl receivi-ng waterfrom the flush pipe and discharging water through the drain pipe; an overflow pipe for the tub leading i-n-to the lower portionof the trap; a drain pipe for the lavatory bowl leading into the overiiow pipe; and a vent pipe leading into the upper portion of the trap, said vent pipe serving to vent the trap and the drain f pipe of the commode bowl.
