This invention relates to slide loops.
The objects of the invention are to provide a slide loop having a pair of horizontal strap loops in a common plane, but separately spaced by an axially associated button loop; to provide one of said strap loops in the form of a depending sheet-metal member fixed in said plane; and to provide the sheet-metal member with a recessed seat adapted to support the shank of a button within the button loop.
Referring to the accompanying drawing, the Figure 1 is an upright face view of the slide loop mounted upon an inserted strap; the Figure 2 is an upright rear view of the mounted slide loop illustrating the associated button loop and a button of which the seated shank is illustrated in cross-section; and the Figure 3 is a perspective of the lower horizontal strap loop.
Referring more particularly to the accompanying drawing, the wire formation of the slide loop comprises in one common plane the upper horizontal bar I of the upper strap loop 2, and the spaced horizontally aligned wire sections 2A and 23, all together providing the structure for the upper strap loop 2, the wire then following an axially downward course to provide the resilient companion arms 9 and Ill cooperating to form the axially associated button-receiving loop 6 and the button-retaining loop I with a constricted throat portion 8 therebetween. The wire terminals H and HA of said wire formation are arranged in relatively outward horizontal alignment below the button-retaining loop I, as illustrated in dotted line by the Figure 2. A depending lower horizontal loop member l4, preferably of sheet-metal as illustrated by the Figure 3, is secured to the said wire terminals H and HA by any convenient means such, as for instance, the rolled edges and I5A of the member l4, each rolled edge enclosing one of the wire terminals H and HA in such manner as to permit the wire terminals II and HA a limited slding movement therein. An integral portion of the sheet-metal strap loop member [4 extends up into the button-retaining loop I to provide a seat l6 for the shank ll of a button I8, the structure of the seat It including the parallel lugs I9 and 20 engaging the front and rear of the wire formation to maintain the sheet-metal member [4 in said common plane. The sheet-metal member 14, thus associated with the wire formation, provides the lower horizontal strap loop 2| having the lower horizontal bar 22, as illustrated by the Figures 1 and 2.
The slide loop is mounted upon the strap S in the well-known manner of inserting an end S of the strap S within the strap loop 2 from the rear, and then within the strap loop 2| from the front, a taut pull of the strap S over the axially associated button loops 6 and 1 secures the strap within the slide loop.
The strap loop thus mounted upon the strap S will be found adapted to Withstand all strain threatening to move the slide thereon, provided that both strap loops 2 and 2| are constructed with sufficiently narrow strap openings.
To readjust the slide p along the strap S, the strap portion, overlying the associated button loops 6 and l, is lifted therefrom and the strap easily passed through each strap loop 6 and "I, one at a time, in the desired direction.
I claim:
1. A two-part slide loop, one part comprising a wire structure formed to provide an upper horizontal strap loop from which the wire ends are continued downwardly to provide companion side arms of a button-receiving loop and a button-retaining loop with a constricted throat portion connecting said button loops, the terminals of said wire ends being disposed horizontally, oppositely and relatively aligned to provide supports; the other part of the slide loop comprising a sheet-metal structure depending from said supports; a lower horizontal strap loop provided by the sheet-metal structure, said sheet-metal structure providing a recessed seat within said button-retaining loop for the shank of a button inserted within the button-retaining loop; means provided by one part of the structures and engaging the other part thereof to maintain said parts in a common plane; and a strap inserted from one direction to within the upper strap loop, down over said button loops and, from the opposite direction, to Within the lower strap loop.
2. A two-part slide loop, one part comprising a wire structure formed to provide an upper horizontal strap loop from which the wire ends are continued downwardly to provide companion side arms of a button loop, the terminals of said wire ends being disposed horizontally, oppositely and relatively aligned to provide supports; the other part of the structures comprising a sheet-metal member depending from said supports; and a lower horizontal strap loop provided by the sheet-metal member, said sheetmetal member providing a recessed seat for the 1shank of a button inserted within the button oop.
