Thus by my invention I have provided a simple and advantageous method of effecting a locking action. My invention. is an improvement over those slider 4devices heretofore known in which I1 of the pull' reliance was placed on the weight of the pull member to move it down into locked position due to the factA that with the present invention a positive action isnautomatically assured whereas with the earlier' form it was usually necessary to i deliberately push thel pullmember into inopera- `tive position t'o be certainthat the projecting slider wing 5 so that the locking members may sfreely through the `slider channels. VForce l I tongue thereof was inproper engagement with the locking members.
Although I have illustrated and described a preferred embodiment of-'my invention, I d o not wish to be limited thereby because the scope of my invention .is best defined by the following claims.
I claim: 1. The vcombination with a pair of stringers having interlocking elements thereon, of a slider movable along said stringers to control said interlocking members, said slider having wings l forming diverging channels, an attaching lug on one of said wings having an opening, a pull member pivotally secured to said lug, said pull` memmember pivotallysecured to said lug, said pull member having integral inwardly-extending portionsat one end extending into said opening of said lug to pivot said pull to said lug. said pull member having an opening adjacent said inwardly-extending portions to receive a portion of said lug when said pull member is in down position adjacent said last-mentioned wing, said pull member having a projection engageable with said interlockingmembers in said down position of. said pull to lock said slider, and a coil spring surrounding said inwardly-extending portions oi' said pull and disposed within said opening ofsaid lug, said'spring member having end elements enber having integrally inwardly-extending portions at one end projecting into said opening of said lug to pivot said pull to said lug. said pull member having a projection engageable with said interlocking members in inoperative position of said pull to lock said slider,v and a spring assembled with said pull within said opening of said attaching lug, said-spring being engageable with said slider and said pull member in all posi-` tions of the pivotal movement thereof to maingageable with said slider and said pull member in all positions of the pivotal movement thereof to maintain automatically said pull member in said down position.
4.
