Description

. 11111616, 1942? J. HRBOUTTE 2,286,253
CORNER BRUSH FOR PAPEBHANGERS Filed June 16, 1941 izmdai i Attorney Juventor I Patented June 16, 1942 UNITED STATES PATjNT OFFICE 1 Claim.
This invention relates to a corner brush mainly designed for paper hangers but which might be used for other purposes, the general object of the invention being to provide a brush having a head of angle shape in CIOSs section so that it will fit in a corner of a room or the like with bristles extending from one end of the head for engaging the paper in a corner so as to smoothly and evenly press the paper into the corner portions of a wall.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:
Figure 1 is an elevational view of the improved brush.
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof.
Figure 3 is a longitudinal sectional view through the brush.
Figure 4 is an end view looking toward the head to which the bristles are attached.
As shown in these views the brush has its head formed of a member I which is of angle shape in cross section with one part extending at right angles to the other part and a handle 2 is fastened in the groove formed by the two parts of the angle-shaped head, this handle having a hand grip 3 formed thereon as shown. One end of the head I is beveled as shown at 4 and bristles 5 have their upper portions contacting this beveled end 4 of the angle-shaped head and these bristles are held in place by the plates 6 which are fastened to the beveled end 4 by screws 1. Instead of forming the plates 6 in two parts a single right angle plate may be used for holding the bristles in place.
As will be seen the bristles at the free end form a right angle and they slope downwardly and outwardly from the beveled end 4 of the brush head so that as the brush is drawn along a corner of a wall the bristles will smoothly and easily apply the paper to said corner wall.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
A corner brush comprising an elongated head of right angle shape in cross section to provide a pair of elongated parts which extend at right angles to each other and have their outer faces smooth, one end of the two members being beveled outwardly and bristles connected with the beveled ends of the two members with said bristles extending downwardly and outwardly and a handle fastened to the head and extending from the space formed by the two parts thereof, the outer faces of the two members of the head being free of bristles.
