Description

J. MAGA HANDLE Oct. 10, 1939.
Filed' March 14, 1939 A iiorneys Patented Oct. 10, 1939 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 1 Claim.
This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in handles for windows, screen doors, receptacles, etc.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a handle which can be readily applied in position and which will not readily become displaced.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following specification.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 represents a top plan view.
Figure 2 is a front elevation.
Figure 3 is an end elevational view.
Figure 4 is a perspective view.
Figure 5 is a perspective view of one of the anchoring blocks.
Referring to the drawing wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that numeral 5 represents the arcuate-shaped handle bar which bridges the two end blocks 66. Each of these end blocks has a longitudinally extending dovetail groove 1 therein.
Numerals 8-8 represent the anchor blocks each of which is of dovetail shape and has a screw 9 extending from the bottom thereof. Obviously, these dovetail anchor blocks 8 can be rotated to drive the screws 9 into the desired structure,
after which the end blocks 6 of the handle can be slid over the same. The dovetail channel I and anchor blocks 8 can be slightly tapered so that there will be a wedging action of the block 6 with the blocks 8. Obviously when the handle 5 blocks 6 have been slid over the anchor blocks there can be no further rotation of the anchor block so that the same can be unscrewed from proper position.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the 10 invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter. 15
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
A handle structure comprising a pair of anchor blocks each of dovetail shape and provided with a threaded anchoring member projecting rigidly 20 therefrom, a pair of socket blocks each formed with a dovetailed channel for receiving the dovetailed anchor blocks, and an outwardly offset handle bridging the said socket blocks, the longitudinal axis of the dovetailed channels of the 25 socket blocks being aligned.
