A principal object of the invention is the DIO- vision of an undergarment having ahorizontal fly opening which is supported by straps to pre-1 lo.I is slightly larger than the opening I9 and is vent sagging.

The upper part of the front section I3 is cut away to form an opening I9, the lower part of which is somewhat V-shaped. A substantially horizontal fly opening is thus formed in the front section I3 of the garment zliII which is supported by the straps 2I and 23 to prevent undesired sagging and gapping. The two sets of crossed straps 2I and 23valso act as a double support for the pouch portion of the use of only a single thickness'of' material vfor the crotch and the pouch portion, with'a mini mum of overlapping at the fly, to provide an extremely cool and comfortable garment.

I claim.:

1. An undergarment adapted to' sheathe the lower partofa human body,` comprising a crotch portion; afront section having; an' aperture ,r formed therein above said; crotch portion, `an insert similar in shape along its side edges and slightly larger than said aperture overlying the latter and secured along its side edges and the sides of said aperture to said front section and unattached thereto along one edge to provide a substantially horizontal ily opening therebetween, and a reinforcing strap-like member secured intermediate its ends to the edge of the outer` portion of said y opening, the ends of said member extending upwardly and `outwardly across said front section and being secured thereto.

2. 6. An undergarment, comprising a body portion made up of a front and a rear section joined at the crotch and sides of the garment, a waist band secured to the top margins of said front and rear sections, said front section having an aperture formed therein above said crotch, an

' insert similar in shape along its side edges and slightly larger than said aperture overlying the same and secured along its side edges to said front section, with one edge of said insert being unattached to said front section to provide a substantially horizontal fly opening therebetween, and a strap secured intermediate its ends to the edge of the outer portion of said iiy opening, the ends of said strap being secured to and band secured to the top margins of said front and rear sections, said front section having an aperture formed therein above said crotch, an

insertI similar in shape along its side edges and slightly larger than said aperture overlying the same and secured along its side edges to said front section, with one edge of said insert being unattached to said front section to provide a substantiallyr horizontal fly opening therebetween, a strap secured intermediate its ends to the edge of the outer portion of said fly opening, the endsvof said strap being secured to and extending upwardly and outwardly across said front section and being secured to said waist band atpoints spacedlaterally from said fly opening, and separate straps secured to vsaid front section, said `insert and said Waist band and extending along the side edges of said insert from the crotch to the waist band, each of said latter straps crossing said first strap intermediate its ends fand being secured thereto.
