`.The relation o'f the spring' I5 :to Ythe table fis y The spring I5 thus acts in vertical position, the flexible table rests against the screen guard 9 and the table is held in such position by the spring I5, the primary function of which is to hold the leg frames in folded relation through the instrumentality of the flexible table in the manner that will now be described.

When it is desired to fold the stand, the upper ends of the leg frames are moved toward each other and then the table frame is swung downwardly until the front portion thereof lies parallel against the front leg frame, the table frame being held in such lowered position by means of the fastening devices or hooks I6 carried by the legs of the front leg frame and adapted when turned to engage the front portion of the table frame. When the parts are in this folded position, the leg frames are held together by the engagement of the fastening devices just described with the front portionof the table frame and the spring on the flexible table to draw it tautly around the rear top `rail and thus maintain the top rails of the leg frames in close relation to each other.

It is possible to omit the spring l and the downwardly extending portion of the flexible table, by attaching the rear edge of the latter to the top rail of the rear leg frame, as shown in the modified form of Fig. 6. With such an arrangement, if the canvas or similar fabric does not have sufficient yieldability to permit it to stretchand hold the leg frames in folded relation, the flexible table can be constructed of suitable elastic material so that it will readily give sufciently to permit it to stretch around the forward top rail when the table frame is in its lowered position, and also maintain a smooth taut surface when in its horizontal or operating position.

While the invention has been described with reference to the particular structural embodiment shown, it is not confined to the details herein set forth, and this application is intended to cover any modifications or changes coming within the purposes of the improvement and the scope of the following claims.

I claim:

l. The combination with a foldable support comprising front and rear pivotally connected leg frames each of which includes a longitudinally extending top rail, of a table frame pivotally mounted on the rear top rail and positionable horizontally over the front leg frame, said table frame having a front portion located parallel to and forwardly of the front top rail when in horizontal position, a flexible table connected to said front portion of the table frame, said flexible table resting on the front top rail and extending rearwardly therefrom when the table frame is in horizontal position and thence around the rear top rail and downwardly to a point beneath the latter, a rigid member carried by and extending longitudinally of the flexible table at its rear lower edge, fastening means holding the table frame in lowered vertical position against the front leg frame when the support is folded, and yieldable retaining means connecting said rigid member with a portion of the front leg frame to hold the flexible table taut and the leg frames together when in folded position.

2. The combination. with a foldable support comprising front and rear pivotally connected leg frames each of which includes a longitudinally exl5 which exerts sufficient tension n tending top rail, of a table frame pivoted to the rear leg frame and positionable horizontally over the front leg frame, said table frame having a front portion located parallel to and forwardly of the front top rail when in horizontal position, a exible table connected to said front portion of the table frame and resting on the front top rail when in horizontal position, means acting to hold the flexible table in substantially fixed relation to the rear top rail, and fastening means holding the table' frame in lowered vertical position against the front leg frame when the support is foldedV with the flexible table stretched taut from the rear top rail around the front top rail and to the front portion of the table frame.

3. The combination with a foldable support comprisingrfront and rear pivotally connected leg frames each of which includes a longitudinally extending top rail, of a tablel frame pivoted to the rear leg frame and positionable horizontally over the front leg frame, said table frame having a front portion located parallel to and forwardly of the front top rail when in horizontal position, a flexible table connected to said front portion of the table frame and held in substantially fix-ed relation to the rear top rail, and

fastening means acting to hold the table frame in lowered vertical position against the front leg frame when the support is folded, the flexible table being stretched taut over the front top rail and acting to hold the leg frames in folded relation.

4. The combination with a foldable support comprising front and rear pivotally connected leg frames each of which includes a longitudinally extending top rail, of a table frame pivoted to the rear leg frame and positonable horizontally over the front leg frame, said table frame having a front portion located parallel to and forwardly of the front top rail when in horizontal position, a flexible table connected to said front portion of the table frame, said table being of elastic material and having its rear edge secured to the rear top rail, and fastening means acting to hold the table frame in lowered vertical position against the front leg frame when the support is folded, the flexible table being stretched taut over the front top rail and acting to hold the leg frames in folded relation.

5. The combination with a foldable support comprising front and rear pivotally connected leg frames each of which includes a longitudinally extending top rail, of a table frame pivoted to the rear leg frame and positionable horizontally over the front leg frame, said table frame having a front portion located parallel to and forwardly of the front top rail when in horizontal position, a flexible table connected to said front portion of Ythe table frame and extending rearwardly therefrom and around the rear top rail when the table frame is in horizontal position, a rigid member carried by and extending longitudinally of the rear edge of the exible table, a screen guard secured to the rear leg frame and acting to limit upward movement of the table, and a spring connecting said rigid member with the front leg frame, said spring acting to hold the table in vertical position against the screen guard without being effective to move the table away from its horizontal position.
