2 Claims.

The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in necktie guides and has for its primary object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a device of this character embodying novel means for facilitating sliding the necktie in a shirt collar when adjusting the knot.

Another very important object of the invention is to provide a necktie guide of the aforementioned character which is adapted to be readily adjusted for different sizes of collars.

Still another very important object of the invention is to provide a necktie guide of the character described which is adapted to be readily removed after the tie has been properly adjusted.

Other objects of the invention are to provide a necktie guide which will be comparatively simple in construction, strong, durable, highly efficient and reliable in use, compact and which may be manufactured at low cost.

All of the foregoing and still further objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from a study of the following specification, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein like characters of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, and wherein:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of a necktie guide constructed in accordance with the present invention, showing the device in use.

Figure 2 is a perspective View, showing the device removed from the collar.

Referring now to the drawing in detail, it will be seen that the embodiment of the invention which has been illustrated comprises a split ring of suitable resilient wire which is designated generally by the reference numeral I. The ring I comprises a pair of relatively

adjustable sections

2 and 3. The section 2 of the split, resilient ring I has its rear end portion formed to provide a pair of spaced loops or eyes 4 which slidably receive the rear end portion of the section 3.

Mounted at spaced points on the ring I are substantially U-shaped guides which are designated generally by the reference numeral 5. The guides 5 are formed from a single length of suitable wire bent at an intermediate point in a manner to provide a coil 6 secured on the ring I and terminating in spaced, parallel fingers I adapted to slidably receive a necktie, as at 8, therebetween. Also mounted on the

2 and 3, adjacent certain of the guides 5, are resilient clips 9 which are engageable with the collar Ill of the shirt II for retaining the device in position while the necktie is being tied and adjusted.

It is thought that the manner in which the device is used will be readily apparent from a consideration of the foregoing. Briefly, the necktie 8 is inserted in the guides 5 on. the ring I with the end portions of said necktie extending free of the device, of course. The device, with the necktie thus mounted thereon, is then inserted in the collar ill of the shirt II and secured through the medium of the resilient clips 9. The knot is then tied in the necktie and said necktie may now be easily pulled through the guides 5 for adjusting the knot. The device is then removed. The guide has been found to be particularly useful in stiflly starohed collars.

It is believed that the many advantages of a necktie guide constructed in accordance with the present invention will be readily understood and although a preferred embodiment of the device is as illustrated and described, it is to be understood that changes in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to which will fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.

What is claimed is:

1. A necktie guide comprising a split, resilient ring insertable in a collar, guides mounted at spaced points on the ring, said guides each comprising a single length of wire includin a coil at an intermediate portion encircling the ring and spaced, parallel fingers adapted to slidably receive a necktie therebetween, and resilient clips on the ring engageable with the collar for securing the ring in position therein.

2. A necktie guide comprising a split, resilient ring insertable in a collar, said ring comprising a pair of adjustable sections, one of said sections comprising spaced loops on one end portion, the corresponding end portion of the other section being slidably engaged in said loops, guides mounted at spaced points on the ring, said guides including pairs of spaced, parallel fingers adapted to slidably receive a necktie therebetween, and resilient clips on the ring engageable with the collar for securing said ring in position therein.
