- Process of making cast surfaced coated paper which comprises applying to paper a coating composition-comprising an aqueous dispersion containing shellac, the shellac comprising more than 30% by weight of the total coating calculated on the dry basis, and imparting to the surface of the coating material'a high degree of smoothness by drying the coating in contact with a smooth, nonadhering surface.
