M. POMROY. Bag-Holder.
No. 221,251. Patentd Nov. 4, 1879.
2.... NIL,
-PETERS. PHOTO-LITHOGRAPHERpWASHlNGTON D C UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MYRON POMROY, OF LOGKPORT, NEW YORK.
IMPROVEMENT IN BAG-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 22 1,251, dated November 4, 1879; application filed May 2, 1879. r
. To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MYRON POMROY, of Lockport, in the county of Niagara and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification. t
Figure l is a view of the bag-holder detached. Fig.2 is a perspective view, showing it in position upon a truck; and Fig. 3 is a detail view, showing the method of securing the bag-holder upon the truck.
Corresponding parts in the several figures are denoted by like letters of reference.
This invention relates to bag-holders; and it consists in certain improvements in the same, which will be hereinafter fully set forth, and particularlypointed out in the claim.
My improved bag-holder consists of a single piece of spring-wire, A,bent into U shape, as represented in the drawings, and having its upper ends bent to form brackets B B.
To place this device in position for operation, I place it upon a truck, 0, with the lower end under one of the cross-pieces, D. The crosspiece D, above the crosspiece D, is provided with two openings, at a, accommodating two screw-threaded hooks or staples, b 11, adapted to catch over the legs of the bag-holder and be secured in position by nuts 0 0.
- By reference to the drawings the operation of my invention will be readily understood. A bag may be readily adjusted upon the brackets B B, where the elasticity of the springwire of which the device is made will hold it in position. The bag-holder may be readily adjusted upon or removed from the truck, and it is simple, cheap, and durable.
Having thus described my invention,I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States- The combination, with a truck, one of the cross-pieces of which is provided with perforations having screw-threaded hooks or staples and thumb-nuts for securing the latter, of a single U-shaped bag-holder, formed of springwire, and having the ends bent to form brackets for holding the bag, as set forth. In testimony that I claim the foregoing as
