IMPROVEMENT lN-MEDICAL COMPOUND FOR HOG-CHOLERA.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 221,039. dated October 28, l8'l9 application filed September 26, 1878.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM A. DENToN, of Council Bluffs, in the county of Pottawattamie, and State of Iowa, have im'ented certain new and useful Improvements in Medical Compounds for the Prevention and Cure of Hog-Cholera; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
The nature of my invention consists in a medical compound composed of alum, sulphate of zinc, Venetian red, and capsicum, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
These ingredients are compounded in about the following proportions, viz: alum, fifteen pounds; sulphate of'zinc, ten pounds; Venetian red, one pound; capsicum, one and a half pounds.
This compound is to be given with the feed at the rate of about two and a half pounds for ten hogs, and is intended to relieve and cure hogs when attacked by cholera, and also to preventand cure similar diseases in hogs.
I do not confine myself to the exact proportions of the ingredients mentioned, as I may change the same in certain contingencies.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The Wlilllll -Cl6S0lll)6(l medical compound, consisting of alum, sulphate of zinc, Venetian red, and capsicum, substantially in or about the proportions stated, as and for the purposes herein set forth.
