Each of the comb teeth elements 25 is formed with an'extension- 2.",c on one side thereof which is adapted to bear against the tooth immediately in front for forming the spaces between the adjacent faces of the teeth.
The operation of the device in this form of the invention is as follows:
For adjusting the length of the heat retaining body 20 the handle 2 4 is removed from the extension 22 to permit the layers 2l)a to be swung to their open position so that the sections 20 may be shifted with relation to each other for increasing the length of the body 20. After the proper length has been attained the comb teeth elements are replaced between the layers 20B with enough teeth to compensate for the change manin length and to completelyv iill the interior of the heat retaining body. 'I'he layers 20* are then again moved to their closed position so that the handle 2t maybe reengaged upon the extension 22 for holding the layers and the sections in their adjusted position. The comb is used in a manner similar tothe comb' described relative to Figs.

Having thus described my invention, what I claimfas new, and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is:
1. A pressing hair comb, comprising a flat heatretaining body of adjacent layers of material retaining body being formed of adjacent layers f of material hingedly connected at one of their ends, each of said layers comprising a pair of sections telescopically engaging each other, one pair Aof said sections being formed with reduced extensions adapted to engage into openings formed in the other pair of said sections and the adjacent faces of said extensions and said openings being formed with serrations adapted to be inter-engaged for. holding the sections against extending except when said layers-are open.

A pressing hair comb, comprising a flat heat retaining body having comb teeth along one edge, and a handle on one end ofsaid body,` said heat retaining body Abeing fo ed oi' adjacent layers of material hingedly connected at one of their ends, said comb .teeth elements being formed at their upper ends with square areasV engageable into .a hollow formed between said layers and said layers being provided with anges at their bottom edges for engaging beneath the square areas-on both sides of said teeth for'retaining' said square areas in position between said layers.
