A seating and sleeping device comprising, in combination, a back section, a seat section and a. leg section, the respective sections being Joined by hinges, supporting memberspivotally connected to the opposite ends of the seat section, the members at the respective ends diverging from each other when the structure is in seating relation, a link connecting the supporting mema link connecting the back to the adjacent supporting member, a link connecting the leg section to the adjacent supporting member, means for locking the back in seating relation, the arrangement being such that upon lowering the back the adjacent supporting member is moved toward a vertical position to raise the rear of the seat section and the forward supporting member is moved to a more inclined position, thus raising the leg section through the connecting link and lowering the forward end of the seat section, and a. third supporting member for the back section when in sleeping position, said third supporting member being adapted to be folded into the back section when the parts are in seating position.
