(Cl. 91-673) 0n removal of plug I, the button I! is turned,
This invention relates to a device for the ap- The device accordingto the invention com prises a container filled with liquid, and into. which projects a wick, sponge or the like, which.
by means of a ieeding device may be moved so as to emerge from the container.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown by way of example. Fig. 1 being a longitudinal section 01 the device, and Fig. 2 being a cross section on line A-B of Fig. 1.
The container consists of a tube I, which is made of, for example, plastic material, such as artificial resin. The bottom end of said tube is closed by a stopper 2, while its top carries a screw plug 3. Tube i is tapered at I, and into.
this tapered end is inserted another tube I, having a smaller diameter than tube I, and projecting with its bottom into stopper '2. This tube I is secured against torsion within tube I, and in the present case presents two. diametrically opposed longitudinal slots I. In such slots is guided a pin I fixedly fitted into a support I of wick I. This support has the shape of a small stick or rod I which widens into a kind of chamber ll, into which the said wick is squeezed. Support I is guided by a bushing Ii, the wall of which is provided withl a spirally wound slot l2, through which projects a pin 1. Bushing Ii, whichis stepped at its bottom, is fixedly mounted to a pivoted button II, which by means of a shoulder l4 projects into stopper 8.
The button II has a bore; the bottom of which is provided with a thread into which fits-a screw plug II having a slot II. Screw ll serves as filling screw for feeding the liquid which through the spirally wound slots i2 and longitudinal slots I will enter the interior oi the device, fill it and then be absorbed by the wick I. Such wick in the position shown will serve as closing device,
sothataspacel'labovethewickwillnotbe filled with liqui thereby bushing Ii is also turned and will eflect an upward displacement 01 support I of the wick,
the said supportnotbeing turned in its tum. The end of the wick will then project from tube l, and may be used for applying liquid. when button I I is turned backward, the wick is restored to its initial position.
By means of the device according to the invention, it will be possible to constantly maintain serviceable an easily evaporating liquid, or
a liquid that is liable to harden or set when contact with theair; Q Y
What we claim is: l. A device for applying liquids, such as rouging lacquer, medicaments or the like, comprising a casing or barrel,-h1 aving a discharge end provided with a reduced bore, an apertured closure plug threaded into the opposite end of the casing, a tubular member secured at its opposite ends into said reduced bore and to said closure plug respectively, said tubular member being provided with slots extending longitudinally thereof, mounted upon-said plug, a bushing having. its
- outer portion extending through said plug and secured in said button and having its inner porhaving its inner end removably secured to said plug, a pin fixed in said stem and passing through said spiral slot and into said longitudinal slots,
4 whereby the rotation of said button in one di-.
rection will eiiect an outward displacement or the stem and wick and a reverse movement of the button will restore the stem and wick to initial position.
2. In a device as set forth in claim 1, a closure cap removably secured to said discharge end and said stem being threaded into said plug, whereby it may be removed to provide a filling opening for the casing. I
