Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to'be. secured by Letters Patent is: 1

1. A hat holder comprising a base plate provided with a slot therethrough adjacent to one end thereof; a clamping element; means swingably attaching the clamping element to one side of the base plate; a spring for yieldably holding one end of'the clamping element against said side of the base plate; and a securing element, formed by a portion of said spring, projectable through the slot in the base plate to a position beyond the other side thereof, said spring being formed to yieldably urge the portion of said securing element projected through the slot toward the base plate to grip the supporting medium between the element and said base.

2. A hat holder comprising a base-plate provided with a slot therethrough, adjacent to one end thereof; a clamping element; a pintle swingably attaching the clamping element to one side of the base plate; a spring yieldably holding one end of the clamping element against said side of the base plate; and a securingelement formed on one end. of the spring projectable through the slot in the base plate, to a position beyond the other side thereof, the other end of said spring being in engagement with said clamping element near the other end of the same, a'portion of said spring intermediate its ends being wound around the said pintle, said spring having a rebent section in its intermediate portion, bearing against the said base plate for the purpose specified.

A hat holder comprising a base plate; a laterally extending flange on the plate at one mounted on the plate; means for yieldably holding one end of the clamping elementagainst one side of the base'plate close to theflange; and a transversely arched marginal area forming a groove in the flange along the line of connection with the base plate the remaining part of 'said flange being flat. A hat holder comprising a base plate; a laterally extending flange on theplate at one end thereof; a clamping element swingably mounted on the plate; means'for yieldably holding one end of the clamping element'against one side of'the base plate close to the flange; a longitudinally arched marginalarea forming a groove in the flangealong the line of connection with the basejplate; and an ear struck upwardly from said flange adjacent to the groove intermediate the ends thereof, said ear being on the opposite-side of said groove from the base plate for. the purpose specified.

5. A hat holder comprising a base plate provided with a slot .and a longitudinally disposed opening 'therethroughmintermediate the ends thereof; a laterally extending flange on: the

plate at one end; a clamping element swingably mounted on the plate; spring forfyieldably holding one end of theclamping element against one side of the base plate close to the flange;

a U-shaped securing element formed on one end of the spring and disposed softhat one legthereof is. projected through the slot in the base plate,-

and a suction cup removably fitted into the opening at one end thereof. I

A. hat rack comprising a flat base plate; a laterally extending flange on the plate; an arched clamping element pivotally secured to'the base plate adjacent the end thereof remote from saidflange; aresilient foot structure on the clamping element cooperating with said flange, when in the normal-- position, togrip the crown of a hat; a spring yieldabjly maintaining said element in the normal position; and a finger-engaging member on the clamping element.

A hat rack comprising a flat base plate; a laterally extending flange on the plate; an arched clamping element pivotally secured to the base plate adjacent the ends thereof remote from said flange; a resilient foot structure on the clamping. element cooperating with said flange, when in the normal position, to grip the crown of a hat; a spring yieldably maintainingsaid element in the normal position; and a finger-engaging member on the, clamping element,

the arched clamping element being to'one side of the base plate, said finger-engaging member extending upwardly and outwardly from the pivotal connection.

A hat rack comprising a base plate; a laterally extending flange on the plate; a clamping element swingably mounted on the plate; a resilient foot structure on the clamping element adjacent to the flange Whenthe clamping elea clamping element swingably projected relation with the clamping element by asid bracket.

9. A hat rack comprising a flat plate; a laterally extending transverse flange on the plate; an arched clamping element pivotally secured to the base plate adjacent the end thereof remote from said flange; a resilient foot structure on the clamping element cooperating with said flange,

when in the normal position, to grip the crown of a hat; a spring yieldably maintaining said element in the normal position; and a fingerengaging member on one end of the clamping element, the said foot structure being carried by the said clamping element and comprising aresilient bracket anchored to the ether end of the clamping element and extending downwardly and outwardly toward said laterally extending flange, and a roller mounted on the bracket.
