particularly strips of plaiting of wire spirals are used.
These known bands have the inconvenience that the bent-over edges of the plate-shaped links engage over the rear side of the carrier, which not only impair the appearance of the structure of the plaiting, but is a hindrance when the band is used in so far as hairs of'the skin can be clamped as well in the joints between the individual bent-over edges of the plates as also in the joints between the end edges of the bent over ends.
By the invention an absolutely uniform rear side of the band is'attained, which no longer shows the above mentioned inconveniences.
The novelty consists thereinthatthe' ends or; the plate-shaped links are first bent over towards the rear and these parts engage under the outwardly directed portions of the two folded'edges bent on the carrier of wire plaiting or wire fabric In this manner no bent over ends of the plates are lying on the rear side of the band. the skin is lying only the porous wire plaitin wire fabric which, as is known, is permeable "in-- a high degree for exhalations of the skin.
For the productionof the edges of the band thl dimensions of the plates may be selected so that aftertheir ends have been bent in accordance with the invention, they still laterally project over the edges of the plated band. The protection of the latter and the fixation of the plates on the strip of plating may be further improved thereby that by bending down the inwardly folded-over parts of the plates, the
edgesof the plaited band are covered at the sides.

The edges a and!) of the strip of plaiting, serving as link carrierare bent over in inward direction and form in this manner folded edges. The plate-shaped links e which, for increasing the pliabllity and flexibility of such a'band body, are measured in the direction of the band length preferably smaller than measured in the direc 10 tion of the band width, show at each of their ends aninwardly bent over part I and an outwardly folded-over part d. 5. In order to then grip the edges 0 and b especially strongly between the parts i and d, the projecting parts I may be slightly bent down-,

At corresponding side of the projecting part-f. it can as'shown in Fig. 6 cover the longitudinal edges'jofthe band I: of wire plaiting or fabric, so that these edges are no longer visible and besides ensured against damaging. It has been found that in consideration of the $0 durable construction of the band body the thickness of thefcarrier c of fabric or plaiting aswell as that oi' the plates e can be very little. The hollow spaceiih produced between 0 and e in consequenceof themutu'al edge-folding of the parts, is thereby comparatively smaller in the final rblled band body than that illustrated in the drawing, which is drawn on larger scale. If the plates have to be plane the hollow space h is filled. by an insert a which may consist also of 40 a strip of plaiting-or fabric or ofany other suitable band-shaped body.

The plates may be ornamented as desired.
I claim:
1 A band body for ornamental and useful purposes, consisting of a band-shaped carrier and of plate-shaped links fixed on this carrier, the ends of the links being first bent-over inwards towards the rear side and then bent-over outwards and thence outwardly bent portions engaging under folded-over edges of said carrier.
2. A band body as specified in claim 1, in which the inwardly bent-over portions project laterally over the longitudinal edges of the link carrier.
3. A band body as specified in claim 1, in which the inwardly bent-over portions project laterally over the longitudinal edges of the link carrier and are curved downwards so that they partly cover the longitudinal edges of the link carrier.
4. A band body as specified in claim 1, in which the inwardly bent-over portions project laterally over the longitudinal edges of the link carrier are curved downwards so that they completely cover the longitudinal edges of the link carrier.
5. A band body as specified in claim 1, comprising in combination with the link can'ier plate shaped links, the folded-over edges of which engage the one over the other so that a hollow space is formed and an insert in said hollow space.
- 6. A band-body as specified in claim 1, comprising in combination plate shaped links the parts of which iolded over inwards and outwards are set of! on one side in the direction of the band length.
7. A band body as specified in claim 1, comprising in combination plate shaped links the parts of which folded over inwards and outwards are set of! on both sides in the direction of the band length.
