2 cm (on. ass-s9) This invention relates to garment hangers and has for the primary object the provision of a device of this character which is especially adapted for supporting skirts. However, it may be employed for supporting trousers and is readily ad- Justable so as to be adaptable to skirts or trousers of various sizes and may include a conventional coat hanger acting as a medium for the connection of the device onto a hook or like support.

With these and other objects in view, this inventionconsists in certain novel features of conv the line 2-2 of .Figure 1.

Figure 6 is a side elevation illustrating a coat hanger adapt'ed tothe present invention and also acting as a medium for connecting the skirt hanger to a support.

Referring in detail to the drawing, the numerals I and'2 indicate rod like 'members each having one end formed with an eye I. The eyes I provide guides to receive said members. The eye of the member I slidably receives the member 2 and the eye of the member 2 slidably receives the member I. The connections between the members I and 2 permit said members to be slid endwise of each other in opposite directions. The Y 1 membersi and 2 have serrations l for the eyes 3 to engage. These serrations engaged bythe eyes set to prevent accidental movement of the members I and 2 relative to each other. The members I and 2 adjacent their free ends are bent to form substantially v-shaped portions 8. The free ends of the members I and 2 are bent upon themselves and twisted thereabout to form loop shaped portions 6. The loop shaped portions engage within the waist belt of a skirt 1, the waist belt portion fitting tightly into they-shaped portions I preventing the skirt from dropping off of the members I and 2.

Instead of employing the hook 8 a conventional type of coat hanger-I I may be provided with a coiled portion I2 to receive the members I and 2. The coat hanger besides supporting the coat also acts to connect the members I and 2 of the skirt hanger onto 'a support.

Instead of employingthe looped portions 8 on the members I and 2, said members I and 2. may have their free ends bent into substantially coiled formation, as shown at I3, wherein the convolutions of the coils are spaced. The portions I3 engage within the skirt in the same manner as the looped portions 6. The members I and 2 being adjustable relative to each other permits the to skirts or trousers of different sizes. 1

What is claimed is: I

l. A trousers hanger comprising a pair of members provided 'witheyes to slidably connect said members in overlapped relation, said members having corrugations for the eyes to engage and ride over during the adjustment of the members relative to each other, said members having portions thereof bent into V-shaped formation to engage in a waist band of a garment, said members having their free ends bent to provide parts to contact walls of the garment to cooperate with the V-shaped portions-in preventing the garment from slipping off of said members, a hook including a shank having a portion coiled to slidably receive the'members where overlapped.

A trousers hanger comprising a pair of members provided with eyes to slidably connect said members in overlapped relation, said membershaving corrugations for the'eyes to engage and ride over during the adjustment of the members relative to each other, said members having portions thereof bent into V-shaped formation, to engage in a waist band of a garment, said members having their free ends bent to provide parts to contact walls of the garment to cooperate .with the v-shaped portions in preventing-the garment from slipping oif of said members, a coat hanger having a'portion thereof bent into a coil to receive said members where ovei'li ipped.
