Still a further object is to provide a garmenthanger of the above mentioned character which is. simple in construction, combination and arrangement of the various elements forming the invention as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawing formingpart hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout.

In the drawing: The figure represents a front elevation of the garment hanger embodying my invention.

In the drawing wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, the numeral 1 designates generally my improved garment hanger, the same being constructed from a single length of wire, shaped by bending the tlisends of the wire being,inter-twisted with one terminal extended and shaped to provide a suspension hook 2 above the twisted portion 3. I

The shoulder portions 4 are oppositely inclined and may be slightly bent.

The intermediate portion of the length of wire is disposed horizontally and constitutes what I term as the transverse reach portion 5 on which the trousers are supported.

The transverse reach portion 5 is of a length materially less than the distance between the lower ends of the shoulder portions 4 and the portions of the wire at the ends of the reach portion 5 are bent back in parallel spaced relation with respect to the end por-' tions of the reach portion 5 to provide what may be termed as a clam ing portion 6.

The ends of the clamping portions terminate in the upwardly diverging portions 7 and these diverging portions are \arranged approximatel forty-five degrees with respect to the c amping portions 6 and the upper ends of the angularly disposed portions 7 terminate in the outwardly and downwardly inclined portions 8, the outer ends of which merge with the lower ends of the shoulder portions 4 as clearly indicated in the drawing. It is to be understood that the wire from which the garment hanger is formed is so bent as to dispose the shoulder portions, reach portions, the trousers clamping portion and the connecting portions between said shoulder portions and the clamping portion in substantially the sa/me vertical plane.

The'coat and vest may be supported on the shoulder portions 4 in the usual manner while the trousers are folded over the reach portion 5 and the respective edge portions of the folded portion of the trousers will be clamped between the end portions of the transverse reach portion 5 and the inwardly disposed clamping portions 6 thus maintaining the trousers in position on the hanger against lateral sliding movement so that the trousers cannot become wrinkled or disengaged from the hanger while in transporta tion.

While I have shovmthe preferred embodiment, it is obv1ous that my invention is susceptible to various changes and modifications in construction without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope ofthe appended claim, and Iaccordingly claim all surihdforms of the device to whichI am entit e Having thus described my invention, what 7 I claim as new is:

A garment hanger consisting of a single length of wire bent into a substantially coangular shaped frame, the ends of the wire bein inter-twisted and bent to form asus- P81151011 hook, shoulder portions extending downwardly in diverging relation from the twisted portions, the intermediate portion of the length of the wire being disposed horizontally to provide a reach portion, the ends of which terminate inwardly of the lower ends of the shoulder portions, the portions of the wire at the ends of the reach portion being bent back above the reach portion in parallel s aced relation thereto to provide trousers c amping portions, the inner ends of the clamping portions terminating in upwardly diverging portions, the upwardly diverging portlons terminating in spaced relation with respect to the intermediate portions of the respective shoulder portions, and in downwardly inclined portions that merge at theirouter ends with the lower ends of the shoulder portions, all of the aforesaid portions being disposed in substantially the same vertical clamping plane.
