In a vacuum cleaner in combination, a shell formed with an air exhaust, a sleeve-shaped screen covering said exhaust, a cap embracing said screen and arranged to lead the air onto said screen in reversed direction, a casing open at both ends within said shell, a coating of sound deadening material on the rear portion of said casing, a motor and fan unit accommodated in said casing, an elastic supporting means inserted between said casing and said shell, an elastic insertion between said motor and said cap, joined to said latter elastic insertion, a cap-shaped shield covering the end wall and axial exhaust opening of said casing and arranged to twice reverse the direction of the air leaving said casing, and a coating of sound deadening material on the end portion of said shield.

In a vacuum cleaner in combination, a shell formed with an air exhaust opening, an inwardly directed tubular member surrounding said exhaust opening, a sleeve shaped screen mounted on and surrounding said tubular member, means for guiding a radially inwardly directed air current onto the outer wall of said screen, a casing open at both ends within said shell, a motor and fan unit accommodated in said casing and a capshaped shield covering the end wall and axial exhaust opening of said casing and arranged to twice reverse the direction of the air.
