This invention relates to animal garments.A It is particularly directed to a dog blanket or sweater or like covering.
An object oi this invention is to provide a gar- 5 ment or blanket of the character described which shall be easy to put on or take oi a dog-.which shall -keep the dog warm and'comfortabie, and which shall permit the dog wearing the same to defecate or urinate without necessity for adjustment or removal of the garment, and without soiling the same. l
Another object of this invention is to provide a neat and durable garment of the character described which shall be relatively inexpensive' to manufacture, attractive in appearance, and yet practical and eiicient to a high degree in use.
Other objects of this invention will in part be obvious and in part hereinafter pointedout.
The invention accordingly consists in the features of-construction, combinations of elements,
and arrangement of parts which will be exemplifled in the construction hereinafter described,y
and of which the scope o! application will be indicated in the iollowing'claim.
In the accompanying drawing. inv which is shown one of the various possible illustrative embodiments of this invention,

The garment Il may be made of wool. leather, felt or any other suitable woven, knitted or other exible sheet material preferable somewhat naturally elastic.

The rear leg portions il' are spaced from one another, the .garment being cut away at the een trai rear end thereof, forming spaced rear edges it, with the portions il at the inner cnds-ofsaid rear edges. The body I2 is cut away centrally thereof and forwardly of the ieg portions i1 as at 2li, to uncover the dog to permit urination without necessity for adjustment or removal ot he garment or any part thereof.
The space separation between the leg portions Il also permits defecation without necessity for removal or adjustment of the garment.
The rear edges Il of body I2 are interconnected by. a small strap portion 22 located directly beneath the dogs tail, to help holdthe garment in proper position on the deg.
In Fig. 3 is shown the rear portion of agarment Ila for a female dog, in whichthere' is no 'space or cut out. 20, the leg portions Ila being to the hind legs.
It will thus be seen that device in which the several objects of this invenmeet the conditions of practical use.
As various possible .embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiments above set forth, it is to be understood that allv matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawing is to be interpreted as illustrative and notina-limitingsense.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
A dog garment comprising a nat bodyA member. having parallel side edges and a front and a rear edge, said side edges'having complementary' fasteners secured thereto anda slider for actuating said fasteners, -said body member having a pair of similar apertured foreleg-receiving Aportions symmetrically positioned intermediate 'a centralv leg-receiving portions extending from said edge inwardly o! the garment; said body member having a cut awy portion inwardly of said rear leg-receiving portions, and a 'strap member se cured to said rear edge intermediate said rear leg-receiving portions and said parallell edles..
