A represents the body of the dish; B, the cover, hinged thereto, as at a. The dish rests upon any suitable support, here represented as a rod, C, and brace D. The rod C extends upward to the rear of the hinge, and so as to form a handle, E, by which the dish may be held. Through a socket in the upper end of By pressing down the rod to the lever F will be turned downward, and with it the cover .will be raised, as indicated in broken lines. This is easily done by placing the fingers in the handle, with the thumb on the tip of the rod a, as shown in broken lines. Hence, in table-service, the dish may be presented, the cover opened by the person presenting it, and securely and easily held open, or as easily closed, at the pleasure of the person carrying it.
