In Figures 1 and 2 I have illustrated one form of my garment which includes a body provided with a front portion i and a rear portion 2. The body may be made from asingle piece of material, but in any event is provided with a centrally disposed opening 3 for the passage of the new of the .child, as will beapparent upon inspection of Figure 2. The portions of the body upon opposite sides of the opening 3 maybe termed the shoulder portions of the garment and for distinction are indicated by the reference numeral 4.

The entire edge of the body may be reinforced by any well known means, and Iihave shown sult it will be seen that the garment is capable of holding the child within the chair, with no discomfort yet it is impossible for the child to casually released and the liability of falling is impossible.

In Figures 3 and 4 I'have illustrated a modified, form of garment which includes a body provided with a front portion I I, and the front portion has formed therewith a pair of spaced parallel extensions I! which act as shoulder portions that extend down the back a considerable distance, as shown, whilethe recess l3 between the extensions provides a neck receiving portion. I

The edges of the body'in its entirety-are reinforced by any wellknown means and I have shown a binding for that purpose.

What I claim is:

l. 2. A restraining garment for infants consisting of a length of flexible material having four corners and including back and front portions and spaced shoulder portions connecting said back and front portions, a binding strip secured to the periphery of said material around the sides and ends thereof, four securing tapes each havin one end stitched to a respective one of said corners, and cross straps each having one end secured to a side portion of the binding strip adjacent one corner of the material and its other end de'tachably secured to the sameside portion of the binding strip adjacent a second corner of the material. 1 1 I MYR'IILE R.
