This invention relates to a bath cabinet for a person to take heated air, shower and foot baths simultaneously or selectively, and is designed primarily for use in private homes, but it is to be understood that a bath cabinet, in accordance with this invention, is for use at places where it may be found applicable, such as barber shops, hospitals, hotels, etc.
The invention aims to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a closed bath cabinet to enable the person taking the bath to control the cabinet from the interior thereof, entirely without outside assistance.
A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a bath cabinet including a portable seat and a hinged back rest for the person using the cabinet, and with said seat and back rest being detachably connected together, as well as the seat being foldable and s the back rest adjustable to an inclination when connected to the seat when the latter is extended.
A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a bath cabinet including a closed bottom, a closed top, a front wall, a pair of side walls and a rear wall, the front wall carrying means capable of being attached to the sides of the head of the person taking the bath to provide for a supply of cool air from eXteriorly of the cabinet to the user of the cabinet, as well as to permit the user to see from the interior of the cabinet when desired.
A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a bath cabinet having means for supplying thereto electrically heated air and with said means controllable from the interior of the cabinet.
A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a bath cabinet having means forming an element thereof for supplying thereto electrically heated air, as Well as having means communicating with the said other means to provide for a circulation of the heated air within the cabinet.
A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a bath cabinet including an upper and a lower section, the lower section being in the form of a bath tub and the upper section forming an open bottom and closed top superposed structure seated upon and connected with the lower section and with said cabinet not only constituting a bath chamber but also a bath tub.
A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a bath cabinet for the purpose referred to including means whereby the user may sit in a comfortable manner during bathing.
Further objects of the invention are to provide, in a manner as herinafter set forth, a bath cabinet for the purpose referred to which is simple 5 in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, compact, readily assembled, thoroughly efiicient in its use, conveniently controlled by the user, and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.
With the foregoing and other objects which may hereinafter appear, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and ar rangement of parts as will be more specifically described and are as illustrated in the accompany- 15 ing drawings wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications may be resorted to which fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.

With reference to the drawings, l0 generally indicates my improved cabinet in its entirety and which includes a bath chamber forming element consisting of a base structure or lower section II and a super-structure or upper section l2. The base structure I I is in the form of a bath tub and the super-structure I2 is in the form of an open bottom and closed top casing. The base structure and super-structure are formed of metallic material, but the material of the base structure is of greater thickness than the material of the super-structure. The base structure is of materially less height than the super-structure l2. The base structure II at its top edge is rabbeted, as at l3 and seated on the shoulder l4 provided by the rabbet I3 is the lower end of the superstructure I2. The latter is secured to the base structure H by the holdfast means [5 and the joint between the super-structure and base structure H has suitable means, not shown, to make the joint air-tight. Any suitable metallic material may be employed for setting up the base structure U and super-structure l2. The base structure H is of rectangular contour in plan. The super-structure I2 is of rectangular contour in sectional plan. Connected to the bottom l6 of the base structure is an insulated drain H. The
The super-structure l2 includes a front wall 2|, a rear wall 22, a pair of side walls 23, 24 and a top 25. The front wall 2| is provided with a door opening 25 closed by a hinged door 27 provided with suitable latching means as indicated at 28. The door 2'! is arranged within the bath chamber 29 provided by the structure U and I2.
Connected to the wall 23 is a towel rack 39; to the top 25 a pair of electric lights 3|; connected to the wall 2| is a bracket 32 for a drinking glass 33; connected to the wall 2| is a soap dish 34; extending through the wall 2| from a water cooler 35 is a valve controlled drinking water supply pipe 36; connected to the wall 24 is a pair of spaced brackets 31; supported from the wall 24 is a heated air conducting pipe 38; connected to the wall 2| is a pair of spaced upper latching members 39; connected to the wall 2| and arranged below the latching members 39 is a pair of spaced aligning brackets 40; connected to the top 25 is a water showering or spray member 4|; and connected to the wall 23 is a thermometer The towel rack 39, the lights 3|, bracket 32, soap dish 34, discharge end of pipe 36, brackets 31, pipe 38, latching members 39, supports 49, member 4| and thermometer 42 are arranged within the chamber 29.
Arranged outwardly adjacent to the wall N3 of the base structure U is an electrical air heater structure 43 formed with an air heating chamber 44, a cool air intake 4411 leading from the atmosphere to the chamber 44 and leading from chamber 44 is an angle-shaped heated air conductingoif pipe 45 formed with a horizontal leg 46 and a depending leg 4! provided with bailles 48. The leg 46 has an opening 49 into which opens the lower end of the pipe 38. The latter extends from the pipe 4'! to near the top 25 of the superstructure I2 and provides for conducting off the air at the top of chamber 29 and for conducting it to the leg 46 of the pipe 41 thereby providing for conducting off of hot air at the top of the chamber and for discharging it into the pipe 45. The leg 46 extends through the opening l9 into the tub formed by the base structure U. The leg 41 is arranged in proximity to the wall |9 of the base structure U and extends to a point Pipe is provided with a controlling valve 56 which is arranged within the chamber 29. The pipes 52, 53 are provided with controlling valves 51, 58 respectively which are arranged within the chamber 29. The pipes 52, 53 and 55 are arranged exteriorly of the chamber 29.
The wall 2| is formed with an opening 59. The latching members 39 border the top wall of the opening 59. The brackets 49 are arranged directly below the opening 59. Detachably connected to the wall 2| and extending inwardly from the opening 59 is a tubular combined air inlet and sight element 69 having a contractible and extendible inner end 6|. The member 60 is formed of anysuitable impervious material and flares from its inner to its outer end. The outer end of the member 69 is wrapped around a frame 62 which corresponds in contour to and is of greater width and length than the opening 59. The bottom of the frame 62 with the wrapped portion of the member 60 thereon is supported in the brackets 46 and the top of the frame with that portion of the member 69 wrapped thereabout is detachably secured against the wall 2| by the latching members 39. These members are pivoted and mounted on headed pivots 63 which extend inof the cabinet which consists of a pair of inverted U-shaped sections 56, 6'! pivotally connected together at their transverse centers and connected together at their upper ends by a seat member 69 formed of a suitable fabric. The tops 70, ll of the sections 66, 61 respectively are provided with slots l2, 13 respectively which are arranged at the rear ends of the outer sides of the said tops.
There is associated with the stool a back rest 74 consisting of a yieldable fabric body 15 connected at its sides to a pair of spaced, parallel bars 16, ll formed at their lower ends with reduced extensions 18, 19 respectively for detachable engagement with the tops 79, ll of the sections 66, 9'! respectively by the insertion of the extensions 18, 19 into the slots 12, 13 respectively. The upper ends of the bars 16, 11 are reduced as at 89 and pivotally connected as at Bl to the brackets 31. When the back rest 14 is in active position it is disposed at an inclination with respect to the wall 24 and extends into the tops of the sections 66, 61 of the foldable stool 65. When the stool is folded, the reduced extensions i8, 19 pass out of slots l2, 13 respectively and the back rest member 14 swings towards the wall 24.
With reference to Figure 1 the cabinet is set for use. The chamber 29 is heated from the heated air supply from the electrical heater structure 43. If the user desires to have a supply of fresh air, he positions the inner end of the member 69 around his face and as the inner end of such member is resilient it will snugly grip the users head. When the member 69 is connected to the head of the user, he will obtain a supply of fresh air and also be able to view from inside to outside of the cabinet and can also direct ones attention to something that the user may require.
The electrical air heating structure 43 includes an outer casing 82, an inner casing 83 maintained in spaced relation with respect to casing 84 by a series of spaced blocks 85 to provide an air space 96, a lining 87 of asbestos throughout the inner face of casing 83 and which provides the air heating chamber 44 and-a suspension 88-for a set of superposed electrical heating elements 89 connected in series. The casings 82, 83 and lining 81 have aligning openings 90, SI and 92 for receiving the leg 46 of pipe 45. The structure 43 at its top has spaced binding posts 93 for the circuit connections 50. The air intake 44a extends through the casings 82, 83 and lining 81 to chamber 44.
Relative to the temperature of the shower, it can be conveniently controlled by the user of the cabinet and this also applies to the controlling of the electrical heater structure. The towel rack and soap dish are in convenient reach of the user and also the drinking glass 33. The stool is normally disconnected from the back rest 14 and when the cabinet is to be used the stool is extended to the position shown in Figure and after which the back rest 14 is detachably connected thereto. The stool 65 and back rest 14 provide for the cabinet being used in a manner as will not be of discomfort to the user.
What I claim is:
1. A bath cabinet comprising a base structure in the form of a bath tub, a super-structure in the form of a closed top and open bottom casing mounted on and anchored to the top of the base structure, said structures coacting to provide a bath chamber, an electrical air heating structure arranged exteriorly of and provided with a heated air supply pipe extending into said base structure and discharging in proximity to the bottom of said base structure, and a hot air conducting pipe within said chamber opening at its upper end in proximity to the top of said super-structure and discharging at its lower end into said heated air supply pipe.
2. A bath cabinet comprising a base structure in the form of a bath tub, a super-structure in the form of a closed top and open bottom casing mounted on and anchored to the top of the base structure, said structures coacting to provide a bath chamber, an electrical air heating structure arranged exteriorly of and provided with a heated air supply pipe extending into said base structure and discharging in proximity to the bottom of said base structure, a hot air conducting pipe within said chamber opening at its upper end in proximity to the top of said super-structure and discharging at its lower end into said heated air supply pipe, said super-structure provided with an opening, and a combined fresh air supply and sight member attached to said super-structure, registering at its outer end with said opening and having a contractible and extendible inner end.

A bath cabinet comprising a base structure in the form of a bath tub, a super-structure in the form of a closed top and open bottom casing mounted on and anchored to the top of the base structure, said structures coacting to provide a bath chamber, an electrical air heating structure arranged exteriorly of and provided with a heated air supply pipe extending into said base structure and discharging in proximity to the bottom of said base structure, a hot air conducting pipe within said chamber opening at its upper end in proximity to the top of said super-structure and discharging at its lower end into said heated air supply pipe, a water showering element connected to the top of said super-structure and arranged within said chamber, hot and cold water supply pipes for communication with said element arranged exteriorly of said structures, circuit connections for said electrical air heater structure arranged exteriorly of said structure, and means within said chamber for controlling said pipes and the said connections.

In a bath cabinet, a base structure in the form of a bath tub, a super-structure in the form of a closed top and open bottom casing seated on and anchored to the top of said base structure, said structure providing a bath chamber, a depending back rest pivotally connected at its upper end to and arranged within said super-structure, a foldable stool for the user, the top of said stool and the lower end of said back rest member having coacting means for detachably connecting them together and for disposing the back rest member at an inclination towards the stool when the latter and the said member are detachably connected together, the said coacting means being so formed to provide for the automatic disconnection of the stool from said member when the stool is folded.
5. In a bath cabinet, a base structure in the form of a bath tub, a super-structure in the tom of a closed top and open bottom casing seated on and anchored to the top of the base structure, said base structure provided with an opening, and an angle-shaped heating air pipe formed of horizontal and vertical legs, said horizontal leg extending through said opening, said vertical leg depending from said horizontal leg to a point in proximity to the bottom of said base structure, said vertical leg being provided with baflies intermediate its ends.
6. A bath cabinet comprising a base structure in the form of a bath tub, a super-structure in the form of a closed top and open bottom casing mounted on and anchored to the top of the base structure, said structures coacting to provide a bath chamber, an electrical .air heating structure arranged exteriorly of and provided with an heated air supply pipe extending into said base structure, and discharging in proximity to the bottom of said base structure, a hot air conducting pipe within said chamber opening at its upper end in proximity to the top of said superstructure and discharging at its lower end into said heated air supply pipe and a controllable cool drinking Water supply carried by said superstructure and extending into said chamber.
