a, INVENTOR ATTO RN EY Patented Dec. 15, 1936 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 3 Claims.
The invention relates to a bottle holder and more especially to a nursing bottle holder for attachment to an infant's crib.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of a holder of this character, wherein a nursing bottle can be properly held so that an infant occupying a crib can be fed from the bottle in a convenient manner and with such infant properly lying within the crib during the feeding period.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a holder of this character which is simple in its construction, thoroughly reliable and eflicient in its operation, enabling a nursing bottle to be clamped therein and also the holder applied to an infants crib, relieving the infant from holding the bottle, strong, durable, and inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in view, the in- 20 vention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the preferred embodiment of the invention and pointed out in the claims hereunto appended.
In the accompanying drawing:
Figure 1 is a fragmentary perspective view of an infants crib showing the bottle holder constructed in accordance with the invention applied thereto and holding a nursing bottle.
Figure 2 is an edge elevation of the holder.
Figure 3 is a top plan view partly in section.
Figure 4 is a sectional view on the line 4-4 of Figure 2.
Figure 5 is a sectional view on the line 5-5 of Figure 2.
Similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views in the drawing.
Referring to the drawing in detail, A designates generally a portion of an infants crib which is of conventional kind having the side railings Ill and to one of these is attached the bottle holder constituting the present invention hereinafter fully described.
The bottle holder comprises a split clamping ring I l for embracing an infants bottle 12 and is swingingly supported in a yoke I3 by pivots I4,
the yoke being at one end of a two-part arm l5 formed with a fork IS in which is pivoted at 11 a railing clamp including jaws l8 which are adapted to embrace the rail H! at the desired location to have the ring clamp ll exposed inwardly of the crib for the holding of the bottle I2 in position for the feeding of an infant when occupying such crib.
The clamping ring H has the ears l9 upon which is saddled a substantially U-shaped clip 20 and likewise the clamp H3 at the extensions 2| is saddled by a U-shaped clip 22. The ring H and clamp l8 are held closed by these clips 20 and 22, respectively. It is preferable to have the clip enveloped by a covering 23 while the ring I l and the clamp 18 Wear coverings 24. Similarly the ears l9 wear coverings 25.
The pivotal mounting of the ring I I in the yoke 13 allows adjustment of such ring and likewise the pivotal mounting of the clamp I8 permits angular adjustment of the yoke as will be clearly apparent from Figures 1 and 3 of the drawing.
By reference to Figure 1 of the drawing the bottle holder will be clearly understood in the maintenance of the bottle l2 in feeding position for an infant when occupying the crib A.
What is claimed is:
1. A holder of the character described comprising a split ring for embracing a bottle, a yoke pivotally supporting said ring and having a forked arm extension, a rail clamp pivoted in said fork, and means for holding the ring and the clamp in closed embracing position.
2. A holder of the character described comprising a split ring for embracing a bottle, a yoke pivotally supporting said ring and having a forked arm extension, a rail clamp pivoted in said fork, means for holding the ring and the clamp in closed embracing position, and coverings carried by said ring and clamp.
3. A holder of the character described comprising a split ring for embracing a bottle, a yoke pivotally supporting said ring and having a forked arm extension, a rail clamp pivoted in said fork, and clips engageable with the ring and the clamp for holding the same closed.
