WHITEWASH-BRUSH.
Specification Of Letters Patent No. 20,447, dated June 1, 1858.
T all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, Davis iV. SHAW and VILLIAM A. MEGRMV, of the city of Balt-imore and State Of Maryland, have invented a new and Improved Mode of Making hitewash-Brushes; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of our invention consists in a metallic box, with divisions, in which the bristles are placed, the first tier being firmly held by a wedge-shaped bar. and the second tier by a. movable plate, which is fastened by pins or screws, therebyv producing a complete dovetail at the end Of the bristle.` and forming a compact body of bristles.
TO enable others skilled in the art to make and use our invention we will proceed to describe its construction.
