ATTORNEYS. I
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MARTIN ENTENMANN,
OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
IMPROVEMENT IN GAME APPARATUS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 204,208, dated May 28, 1878 application filed March 26, I878.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARTIN ENTENMANN, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Toy Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to improvements in toy game apparatus, such as are used in games played by revolving a wheel with a sudden impetus.
The invention consists in the combination of a stationary horizontal disk provided with series of numbered perforations, and a concentric subjaeent rotating wheel provided with avertical rim, and having projections arranged to dislodge, by rotation, a number of balls resting in the holes of the said disk, as will be hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a plan view of my improved game apparatus. Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same, taken on the line a; w of Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
"A is a stationary horizontal disk, provided with concentric series of partly numbered holes a a a and secured on the vertical stud B within the vertical flange or'rim c of the horizontal wheel 0. The latter is fitted to turn upon the said stud B, and is provided on its arms 0, at intervals, with raised portions or projections D, which, as the wheel 0 revolves, will pass sufficiently close to the under side of the stationary disk A, at points directly underneath each ring or series of holes, to come in contact with the lower surface of one or more balls, E, resting on the disk A in.
-stopped. Then the numbers, if any, marked on the disk A at the holes in which the balls E finally lodged are added together, and the sum counted as the number of points gained at the throw.
The stud or pivot B is secured on a pedestal, F, supporting the toy game apparatus.
The holes a in the circumferential ring of holes may be only a portion of a circle, as shown in Fig. 1, theballs E, when lodged in them, being supported on the outside by the inner surface of the rim 0 until dislodged by those of the passing projections D which are nearest to the said rim 0.
After each count, preparatory for the next throw or turn, the balls E are placed in holes at which no numbers are marked.
Having thus described my. invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The combination, with the stationary horizontal disk A, provided with a series of numbered perforations, a a o of the concentric subjacent rotating wheel 0, provided with the vertical rim 0, and having projections D, arranged to dislodge, by rotation, one or more balls, E, resting in the holes of the disk A, substantiallyas shown and described.
MARTIN ENTENMANN.
