IMPROVEMENT IN TOBACCO-GERMERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 203,978, dated May 21, 1878; application filed September 10, 187.71
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, JORDAN WOODS, of Glasgow, in the county Of Howard and State of Missouri, have invented a new and .[mproved Tobacco-Germer, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of a cap or shield provided with a projecting metallic nail or cutter, and jointed to a split ring. The device is to be worn on the thumb, and the artificial nail is to be used in the same manner as the natural thumb-'nail is used in removing germs or suckers from tobacco-plants.
In the drawing, A is a metallic cap, of suitable size and form to f1tthe end of the thumb, and B is a split ring, having formed ou its opposite sides ears a, which are connected with the cap A by a joint, O.
Upon the outer or closed end of the cap A a curved nail or cutter, D, is formed, which is used in removing the germ or sucker from the cutter, D, and the split ring B, having ears a,
and connected With'the cap A by the joint C, substantially as shown and described.
