The laterally projecting pivot members I2 dispense with the necessity of vertical bearing lugs upon the jaw 9, thus enabling the jaws 9 and 40 to be in parallelism and adjacent each other, thus imparting compactness to the clasp.
The presence of a positive lock makes it possible to dispense with the use of fallible and weak spring devices for forcing the jaws towards each other, and to dispense with stop lugs of any kind on the mounting member.
I claim:- Y
1. A nding for a clasp comprising a jaw member provided with a longitudinal depression and Vwith an opening in the depression, a mounting member for receiving another jaw member of the clasp pivotally mounted upon the first jaw member including a locking loop adapted to extend into said opening, and a bolt slidably mounted in the depression movable through the loop.
2. A nding for a clasp comprising a jaw member provided with a longitudinal depression and with an opening in the depression, a mounting member for receiving another jaw member of the clasp pivotally mounted upon the first jaw member including a locking loop adapted to ex tend into said opening, a strap integral with the rst jaw member bridging the depression, and a bolt slidably mounted in the depression movable through the loop in contact with the strap.
3. A finding for a clasp comprising a jaw member provided with a longitudinal depression and with an opening in the depression, a mounting member for receiving another jaw member of the clasp pivotally mounted upon the first jaw member including a locking loop adapted to extend into said opening, a strap integral with the rst jaw member bridging the depression, and a bolt slidably mounted in the depression movable through the loop, and a friction shoulder upon an intermediate portion of the bolt engageable with the strap.
4. A finding for a clasp comprising a jaw member provided with a longitudinal depression, a longitudinal slot in the depression and an opening in the depression, a mounting member for receiving another jaw member of the clasp pivotally upon the first jaw member including a loop adapted to traverse the opening, a bolt slidably mounted in the depression and movable through the loop, and a knob upon the bolt including a portion registering in the slot.
