In Figure 5 of the drawings there is shown a further modification, wherein the bottom of the body 34 has a hollow metallic molding 35, this being formed externally with a seat 36 for accommodating the sides and ends of the body 34 which is removable from the bottom, while the cover or top 3! is made fast with the body 34 through the trim 38 spot welded thereto. In this modified form just described of the vault the casket is supported upon the bottom and the body with the integral cover or top is brought to rest upon the seat 36 of the molding 35 constituting a part of the bottom 39 of such vault.
Each side of the body A has fitted therewith suitable handles 40 for the handling of the vault, as is conventional.
What is claimed is:
A burial vault and a cover'therefor each constructed of corrugated metal, a metal trim at the edges of the vault and cover, each trim comprising a metal plate which is spot welded to the outwardly rounded portions of the corrugations on the outer faces of said vault and cover, and each of said plates being bent to provide channeled parts which receive therein the edges of the said vault and cover, the channeled portions of the trim of the cover being also shaped to receive the upper edge of the vault therein and a sealing medium filling the interstices between the trims and bodies of the vault and cover.
