Abstract

A decorative article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls. A body has a first anterior face displaying a decorative image. An adhesive is attached to a second posterior face of the body. A substrate is attached to the second posterior face, the substrate providing a support system for the body.

Description

I. BACKGROUND

a. Field

The invention relates to the ornamentation of toy dolls in attractive themes and to means for accomplishing the same.
The general purpose of the invention is to add customizable motifs to a child's toy doll so that children may enjoy more pleasure while playing with their toys; and will not have to buy new doll sets when they misplace or desire new accessories for their dolls.
A more specific purpose of the invention is to provide manufacture which will make it possible to set and fix the ornamental motif precisely at a desired spot and to be re-used and repositioned at another favorable position on the toy doll. It is of great importance to achieve precise setting and fixing; otherwise it may produce no desirable motif. Another purpose is to provide immediate satisfactory results to the user, which will facilitate matching color of dress, make-up, or other accessories already on the toy doll. Briefly, the above is attained by means of a two-sided transparent vinyl indices which carries a desired design on a backed adhesive and a support system containing the indices that has been proved the simplest yet the best mode of carrying out the invention. In view of this factor and the fact that only common and inexpensive materials, and simple manufacturing procedure are required, the invention has a high commercial value.

b. Description

U.S. Pat. No. 3,598,685A—Means for Ornamenting Fingernails and Toenails. Fingernails and toenails can be ornamented in precise position with tiny floral or other designs to match dress color, make-up or nail lacquer. A heavy vinyl covered board with differently colored rectangles is provided with a plurality of side by side bands, each band having a central portion with a decalcomania transfer pattern, flank portions coated with adhesive and blank terminal portions, the latter which can be omitted in modifications, for handling and manipulating purposes, the strips may optionally be made up as a roll with transverse perforations for severing individual strips, the decalcomania of each of which is protected as by a piece of vinyl plastic or glossy paper. However, '685 patent is primarily used for only fingernails and toenails while “Means for Accessorizing, and Ornamenting Toy Dolls in Attractive Themes” looks to expand to the entire doll and without limitations. Not only can “Means for Accessorizing, and Ornamenting Toy Dolls in Attractive Themes.” be used in similar ways as the '685 patent, your invention looks to create similar ventures in accessories such as jewelry, shoes, or body art. The addition of “Means for Accessorizing, and Ornamenting Toy Dolls in Attractive Themes.” to include other accessories and decorations is an unanticipated aspect is novel.

With the addition of designs to include shoes and accessories, “Means for Accessorizing, and Ornamenting Toy Dolls in Attractive Themes “is not anticipated by '937 patent.
US Patent Number: US20080164653A1—Foosball Accessories. A foosball table accessory comprises at least one themed foosball man outfit which is attachable to and removable from a foosball man without removing the foosball man from an associated rod, wherein the foosball man outfit comprises one of headgear selectively attachable to and removable from a head portion of the foosball man, torso gear selectively attachable to and removable from a torso portion of the foosball man, and combinations thereof. A visually striking presentation may be provided when the foosball man outfits are provided for one whole team of foosball men and wherein the opposing team has suitably selected opposing outfits. However, the '653 patent primarily deals with outfits that are attachable through different methods, such as a peg that fits precisely into a hole. In addition, the outfits that are exhibited in the '653 patent represent entire casings of the outfit. “Means for Accessorizing, and Ornamenting Toy Dolls in Attractive Themes” is different because of the method of attachment is through an adhesive rather than through a mechanical process. Furthermore, “Means for Accessorizing, and Ornamenting Toy Dolls in Attractive Themes” gives more discretion in outfitting through individual designs rather than an entirely preassembled outfit.

II. STATEMENT OF THE OBJECTS

The objects in one form of the invention relates to stickers that serve to accessorize dolls and to be repositioned regardless of the number of times it has been previously used. By allowing stickers to accessorize dolls, a variety of anterior facing decorative image are positioned to create different outfits and accessories for the dolls that represent different themes according to the user's preferences. These themes can come from a variety of different topics of interest that are not limited to the doll's area of application for the sticker. When the theme of the accessories or ornaments of the dolls need to be changed, the invention allows for interchanging of the stickers without replacement of the posterior facing adhesive component of the article of manufacture. In doing so, the stickers become reusable and repositionable at a different time depending on the user's preferences of where the stickers are intended to be and in what position.

III. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one form of the invention, a first anterior face displaying decorative image, made of vinyl, and a second posterior facing adhesive component, a process which is proprietary and machine applied, is attached to a support system which houses the first anterior face displaying decorative image and a second posterior facing adhesive component to be applied to toy dolls in desired motifs. The desired motifs to be applied are reusable and repositionable for application to different surfaces of the same or varying positions on the doll. Altering the degrees of freedom can include more surface area for the article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls to a second surface of the doll.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring now to the discussion that follows and also to the drawings, illustrative approaches to the disclosed systems and methods are described in detail. Although the drawings represent some possible approaches, the drawings are not necessarily to scale and certain features may be exaggerated, removed, sectioned out-of-plane or partially sectioned to better illustrate and explain the present invention. Further, the descriptions set forth herein are not intended to be exhaustive or otherwise limit or restrict the claims to the precise forms and configurations shown in the drawings and disclosed in the following detailed description.
With reference to FIG. 6 , a substrate for a support system 14 attached to the second posterior facing adhesive component 12 includes an anterior face displaying decorative image 10 wherein the anterior face displaying decorative image 10 are comprised of vinyl decorative components 16.
With reference to FIG. 2 , removing the article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls from the substrate for a support system 14 to position the article of manufacture onto a surface of a toy doll 18 with the second posterior facing adhesive component 12 positioned flush onto a surface of a toy doll 18. Removing the article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls from the surface of the toy doll 18 and repositioning the article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls to a second surface of a toy doll 18 with the second posterior facing adhesive component 12 positioned flush onto the second surface of a toy doll 18.
With reference to FIG. 3-5 , A process for applying the article of manufacture to toy dolls whereby, repositioning can include altering the degrees of freedom to include more surface area for the article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls to a second surface of the doll. Reference to FIG. 5 is contrasted with Reference to FIG. 4 wherein repositioning that includes altering the degrees of freedom can also decrease surface area for the article of manufacture for accessorizing depending on the user's preferences.

Claims

I claim:

1. A decorative article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls, comprising:

a. A body having a first anterior face displaying decorative images;

b. The body having a second posterior face, an adhesive component attached to the second posterior face;

c. A substrate proving a support system attached to the second posterior face.

2. A process for applying a decorative article of manufacture to toy dolls, comprising:

a. Removing the article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls from the substrate providing a support system attached to a second posterior facing adhesive component of the decorative article of manufacture;

b. Positioning the second posterior facing adhesive component of the decorative article of manufacture onto a first surface of a toy doll;

c. Removing the decorative article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls from the first surface of the doll;

d. Repositioning the decorative article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls to a second surface of the doll.

3. The decorative article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls of claim 1, wherein: the first anterior facing displaying decorative images are made of vinyl.

4. The decorative article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls of claim 1, wherein: the second posterior facing adhesive component is machine applied and the image is one of decorative theme.

5. The process for applying the decorative article of manufacture to toy dolls of claim 2, wherein: repositioning includes altering the degrees of freedom of the decorative article of manufacture to include additional surface area for the decorative article of manufacture for accessorizing toy dolls to a second surface of the doll.
