Abstract
A helium balloon harness assembly includes a net that is comprised of a plurality of interlocking members. The interlocking members are arranged to curve outwardly from a central axis of the net such that the net has a bulbous shape thereby facilitating the net to accommodate a helium balloon such that the net is lifted by the helium balloon. A harness is coupled to and extends downwardly from the net and a basket is coupled to the harness such that the basket is spaced downwardly from the net. A plurality of figurines is provided and each of the figurines has an equal weight with respect to each other. A selected number of the figurines is positionable in the basket to determine the lift force of the helium balloon.

- The disclosure relates to helium balloon assembly and more particularly pertains to a new helium balloon assembly for measuring the lift force of a helium balloon. The device includes a net that is positionable around a helium balloon and a harness that is attached to the net. The device includes a basket attached to the harness and a plurality of figurines that can be positioned in the basket. Each of the figurines has a pre-determined weight such that the total weight of the figurines that are positioned in the basket can be calculated to determine the lift force of the helium balloon.
- The prior art relates to helium balloon assembly including a buoyant toy that includes a gondola that is attached to a balloon which can be inflated with a gas and plurality of ballasts that can be added to the gondola for facilitating the gondola to neither rise nor descend. The prior art discloses a hot air balloon that can be filled with hot air to facilitate the hot air balloon to float. The prior art discloses a hot air balloon toy that includes a balloon and a plate attached to the balloon to facilitate the balloon to float against a ceiling structure. The prior art discloses a hot air balloon toy that includes a balloon and a gondola that is attached to the balloon. The prior art discloses an ornamental design for a hot air balloon toy that includes a cage that is positionable around a balloon inflated with hot air.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a net that is comprised of a plurality of interlocking members. The interlocking members are arranged to curve outwardly from a central axis of the net such that the net has a bulbous shape thereby facilitating the net to accommodate a helium balloon such that the net is lifted by the helium balloon. A harness is coupled to and extends downwardly from the net and a basket is coupled to the harness such that the basket is spaced downwardly from the net. A plurality of figurines is provided and each of the figurines has an equal weight with respect to each other. A selected number of the figurines is positionable in the basket to determine the lift force of the helium balloon.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 5 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new helium balloon assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the heliumballoon harness assembly 10 generally comprises anet 12 that is comprised of a plurality of interlockingmembers 14 that is arranged to curve outwardly from a central axis of thenet 12 such that the net 12 has a bulbous shape. In this way the net 12 can accommodate ahelium balloon 16 such that thenet 12 is lifted by thehelium balloon 16. Thehelium balloon 16 may be a balloon of any conventional size or design that could be purchased in a retail location for a birthday celebration, for example. Furthermore, thehelium balloon 16 may be inflated with gaseous helium that is purchased in a retail location. The bulbous shape defined by thenet 12 has atop end 18 and abottom end 20, and each of thetop end 18 and thebottom end 20 is open. - A
harness 22 is provided and theharness 22 is coupled to and extends downwardly from the net 12. Theharness 22 comprises a plurality offirst lanyards 24 that each has anupper end 26 and alower end 28. Theupper end 26 of each of thefirst lanyards 24 is coupled to thebottom end 20 of the net 12 and thefirst lanyards 24 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed around thebottom end 20. Theharness 22 includes aring 30 that is coupled to the bottom end of each of thefirst lanyards 24. Thering 30 has a diameter that is less than a diameter of the bottom end of thenet 12 such that each of thefirst lanyards 24 angles inwardly between the bottom end of thenet 12 and thering 30. Theharness 22 includes a plurality ofsecond lanyards 32 that each has anupper end 31 and alower end 33. Theupper end 31 of each of thesecond lanyards 32 is coupled to thering 30 such that each of thesecond lanyards 32 extends downwardly from thering 30. Additionally, thesecond lanyards 32 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed around thering 30. - A
basket 34 coupled to theharness 22 such that thebasket 34 is spaced downwardly from the net 12. Thebasket 34 has abottom wall 36 and anouter wall 38 extending upwardly from thebottom wall 36, and theouter wall 38 has adistal edge 40 with respect to thebottom wall 36 to define anopening 42 into thebasket 34. Thelower end 33 of each of thesecond lanyards 32 is coupled to thedistal edge 40 of thebasket 34 such that thebasket 34 is suspended from the net 12. Theouter wall 38 of thebasket 34 has a plurality of intersectingsides 44 such that thebasket 34 has a rectangular shape. Furthermore, each of the intersectingsides 44 may have a width ranging between approximately 7.0 cm and 12.0 cm and a height ranging between approximately 7.0 cm and 12.0 cm. Furthermore, thelower end 33 of each of the second lanyards is positioned on a respective one of four corners 45 of theouter wall 38 of thebasket 34. - A plurality of
figurines 46 is provided and each of thefigurines 46 has an equal weight with respect to each other. A selected number of thefigurines 46 is positionable in thebasket 34 to determine the lift force of thehelium balloon 16. Each of thefigurines 46 has abase 48 and amannequin 50, and themannequin 50 associated with each of thefigurines 46 has a pair offeet 52, a torso 54 and ahead 56. Each of thefeet 52 of themannequin 50 associated with each of thefigurines 46 is coupled to atop surface 58 of thebase 48 such that themannequin 50 associated with arespective figurine 46 extends upwardly from thebase 48 associated with therespective figurine 46. Abottom surface 60 of thebase 48 associated with arespective figurine 46 rests on thebottom wall 36 of thebasket 34 thereby facilitating themannequin 50 associated with therespective figurine 46 to stand in thebasket 34. Moreover, each of thefigurines 46 has a weight of 1.0 gram thereby facilitating the lift force of thehelium balloon 16 to be measured in grams resulting from the number offigurines 46 required to be placed in thebasket 34 to facilitate thebasket 34 to be stationary. - In use, the
helium balloon 16 is positioned in the net 12 thereby facilitating thehelium balloon 16 to lift thebasket 34.Figurines 46 are continually placed in thebasket 34 until thebasket 34 neither rises nor descends. In this way the lift force of thehelium balloon 16 can be calculated by adding the total weight of thefigurines 46 that are placed in thebasket 34. Furthermore, different sizes of helium balloons 16 can be positioned in the net 12 to facilitate the lift force of each of the different sizes of helium balloons 16 to be calculated. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (6)
1. A helium balloon harness assembly for measuring the lift capacity of a helium balloon, said assembly comprising:
a net being comprised of a plurality of interlocking members, said interlocking members being arranged to curve outwardly from a central axis of said net such that said net has a bulbous shape thereby facilitating said net to accommodate a helium balloon such that said net is lifted by the helium balloon;
a harness being coupled to and extending downwardly from said net;
a basket being coupled to said harness such that said basket is spaced downwardly from said net; and
a plurality of figurines, each of said figurines having an equal weight with respect to each other, a selected number of said figurines being positionable in said basket wherein said plurality of figurines is configured to determine the lift force of the helium balloon.
2. The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein:
said bulbous shape defined by said net has a top end and a bottom end, each of said top end and said bottom end being open; and
said harness comprises a plurality of first lanyards, each of said first lanyards having an upper end and a lower end, said upper end of each of said first lanyards being coupled to said bottom end of said net, said first lanyards being spaced apart from each other and being distributed around said bottom end.
3. The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said harness includes:
a ring being coupled to said bottom end of each of said first lanyards, said ring having a diameter being less than a diameter of said bottom end of said net such that each of said first lanyards angles inwardly between said bottom end of said net and said ring; and
a plurality of second lanyards, each of said second lanyards having an upper end and a lower end, said upper end of each of said second lanyards being coupled to said ring such that each of said second lanyards extends downwardly from said ring, said second lanyards being spaced apart from each other and being distributed around said ring.
4. The assembly according to claim 3 , wherein said basket has a bottom wall and an outer wall extending upwardly from said bottom wall, said outer wall having a distal edge with respect to said bottom wall to define an opening into said basket, said lower end of each of said second lanyards being coupled to said distal edge of said basket such that said basket is suspended from said net.
5. The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein each of said figurines has a base and a mannequin, said mannequin associated with each of said figurines having a pair of feet, a torso and a head, each of said feet of said mannequin associated with each of said figurines being coupled to a top surface of said base such that said mannequin associated with a respective figurine extends upwardly from said base associated with said respective figurine, a bottom surface of said base associated with a respective figurine resting on a bottom wall of said basket thereby facilitating said mannequin associated with said respective figurine to stand in said basket.
6. A helium balloon harness assembly for measuring the lift capacity of a helium balloon, said assembly comprising:
a net being comprised of a plurality of interlocking members, said interlocking members being arranged to curve outwardly from a central axis of said net such that said net has a bulbous shape thereby facilitating said net to accommodate a helium balloon such that said net is lifted by the helium balloon, said bulbous shape defined by said net having a top end and a bottom end, each of said top end and said bottom end being open;
a harness being coupled to and extending downwardly from said net, said harness comprising:
a plurality of first lanyards, each of said first lanyards having an upper end and a lower end, said upper end of each of said first lanyards being coupled to said bottom end of said net, said first lanyards being spaced apart from each other and being distributed around said bottom end;
a ring being coupled to said bottom end of each of said first lanyards, said ring having a diameter being less than a diameter of said bottom end of said net such that each of said first lanyards angles inwardly between said bottom end of said net and said ring; and
a plurality of second lanyards, each of said second lanyards having an upper end and a lower end, said upper end of each of said second lanyards being coupled to said ring such that each of said second lanyards extends downwardly from said ring, said second lanyards being spaced apart from each other and being distributed around said ring;
a basket being coupled to said harness such that said basket is spaced downwardly from said net, said basket having a bottom wall and an outer wall extending upwardly from said bottom wall, said outer wall having a distal edge with respect to said bottom wall to define an opening into said basket, said lower end of each of said second lanyards being coupled to said distal edge of said basket such that said basket is suspended from said net; and
a plurality of figurines, each of said figurines having an equal weight with respect to each other, a selected number of said figurines being positionable in said basket wherein said plurality of figurines is configured to determine the lift force of the helium balloon, each of said figurines having a base and a mannequin, said mannequin associated with each of said figurines having a pair of feet, a torso and a head, each of said feet of said mannequin associated with each of said figurines being coupled to a top surface of said base such that said mannequin associated with a respective figurine extends upwardly from said base associated with said respective figurine, a bottom surface of said base associated with a respective figurine resting on said bottom wall of said basket thereby facilitating said mannequin associated with said respective figurine to stand in said basket.
