Abstract

A versatile exercise band, comprising: an outer layer comprising comfortable material, an inner layer comprising elastic material, an overlapping area where a first end and a second end of the exercise band overlap using fastening means, wherein the fastening means is anyone of sewing stitches, a buckle, or adhesive material and an anchor formed in the shape of a hollow loop in order to attach the exercise band to a wall, anchor the exercise band inside a door frame or any other stable surface in order to protect the integrity of the exercise band from having to be wrapped around an object.

Description

    PRIORITY
  • This application claims the benefit under 35 USC 119(e) of U.S. Provisional Patent Application 62/984,928, filed Mar. 4, 2020, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety for all purposes.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention
  • The invention relates to the field of exercise equipment, particularly to exercise bands designed to provide resistance for training.
  • Description of Related Art
  • Exercise bands are used by individuals and professional personal trainers in order to incorporate resistance-based training into a workout routine. Exercise bands vary in shapes, sizes, widths, and strengths in order to provide exercise applications for various exercise situations. For example, an exercise band is used to be placed around the legs, another exercise band would be used to provide support for the body in a pull up exercise.
  • The drawback in the traditional exercise bands is that they are made of latex. The usage of latex in exercise bands causes the band to pop if the band is sufficiently thin, peel, or roll upon itself causing discomfort.
  • Therefore, a need exists for a versatile exercise band that has multiple uses, provides comfort, and that is comfortable to use.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Some embodiments of the disclosure provide a versatile exercise band, comprising: an outer layer comprising comfortable material, an inner layer comprising elastic material, an overlapping area where a first end and a second end of the exercise band overlap using fastening means, wherein the fastening means is anyone of sewing stiches, a buckle, or adhesive material and an anchor formed in the shape of a hollow loop in order to attach the exercise band to a wall, or any other stable surface.
  • Some embodiments of the disclosure provide a versatile exercise band, comprising: an outer layer comprising comfortable material, an inner layer comprising elastic material, a connection area where a first end and a second end of the exercise band connect in order to form a closed loop using fastening means, wherein the fastening means is any one of sewing stiches, a buckle, a hook buckle, or adhesive material.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The accompanying drawings are included to provide a better understanding of the disclosure and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification. The drawings together with the description provide an explanation of the principles of the invention.
  • FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically illustrating a versatile exercise band having an outer layer, an inner layer, an overlapping layer, and an anchor.
  • FIG. 2 is a diagram schematically illustrating a versatile exercise band having an outer layer, an inner layer, and fastening means comprising a buckle.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Reference will now be made in detail to embodiments of the invention. Hereinafter, specific embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings.
  • FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically illustrating a closed loop versatile exercise band according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the versatile closed loop exercise band includes an outer layer 1 that is designed to provide comfort to the person using the exercise band. The outer layer 1 is made of comfortable material like fabric in order to accommodate the body of the user in a comfortable way and at the same time avoid the band rolling upon itself or popping. The outer layer 1 is attached to the elastic inner layer 2 causing outer layer 1 and inner 2 to expand and contract together. The versatile closed loop exercise band comprises a first end and a second end folded together to form an overlapping area 3 where the first end overlaps the second end of the exercise band. An anchor 4 is placed within the overlapping area 3 and fastened between the first and second ends of the versatile closed loop exercise band. The anchor 4 allows the user to attach or hook the exercise band onto a wall or a stable surface. The t should be appreciated by a person of ordinary skill in the art that the fastening means can be any one of sewing stiches, a buckle, a hook buckle, or adhesive material.
  • FIG. 2 is a diagram schematically illustrating a closed loop versatile exercise band according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 2, the versatile closed loop exercise band includes an outer layer 1 that is designed to provide comfort to the person using the exercise band. The versatile closed loop exercise band comprises a first end and a second end connected together to form a closed loop via fastening means 3. The fastening means in FIG. 2 is a buckle, however, it should be appreciated by a person of ordinary skill in the art that the fastening means can be any one of sewing stiches, a buckle, a hook buckle, or adhesive material.
  • In some embodiments, an anchor can be sewn into the overlapping area of FIG. 2 though not labeled. The overlapping area of FIG. 2 is formed by folding one end of the exercise band upon itself forming an overlapping area within which an anchor can be sewn.
  • Although the disclosed examples have been fully described with reference to the accompanying drawings, it is to be noted that various changes and modifications will become apparent to those skilled in the art. Such changes and modifications are to be understood as being included within the scope of the disclosed examples as defined by the appended claims.
