- The disclosure relates to leveling devices and more particularly pertains to a new leveling device for leveling items without holding a separate level.
- (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98
- The prior art relates to leveling devices. Existing devices mount leveling devices to the hand, wrist, and fingers in different manners. These devices, however, are not mounted to the back portion of the user's palm. Known devices also lack a variety of level types integrated into a rigid level mount.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a glove body having a bottom opening, a palm portion, a plurality of finger portions, a glove top side, and a glove bottom side. A level mount is coupled to the glove body. The level mount is coupled to the glove top side on the palm portion of the glove body and the level mount is rigid. A plurality of levels is coupled to the level mount. Each level is coupled to a mount top side of the level mount.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an isometric view of a work glove leveling apparatus according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a rear elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a bottom plan view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new leveling device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 4 , the workglove leveling apparatus 10 generally comprises aglove body 12 having a bottom opening 14, apalm portion 16, a plurality offinger portions 18, a glovetop side 20, and aglove bottom side 22. Theglove body 12 may be a durable material standard to work gloves such as, but not limited to, leather, vinyl, and the like. - A
wrist band 24 may be coupled to theglove body 12. Thewrist band 24 is coupled adjacent the bottom opening 14 and has a selectivelyengageable fastener 26 to adjustably tighten the bottom opening 14 on the user's wrist. - A
level mount 28 is coupled to theglove body 12. Thelevel mount 28 is coupled to the glovetop side 20 on thepalm portion 16 of the glove body. Thelevel mount 28 may be rectangular and has a mountfront edge 30, mountback edge 32, a mountleft edge 34, and a mountright edge 36. Thelevel mount 28 is rigid and may have rounded corners for user safety and to prevent catching. Thelevel mount 28 may protrude above the glovetop side 20. - A plurality of
levels 38 is coupled to thelevel mount 28. Eachlevel 38 is coupled to a mounttop side 40 of the level mount. The plurality oflevels 38 may include a pair of semi-cylindrical single-axis levels 42 and a hemisphericalmulti-axis level 44. The pair ofsemi-cylindrical levels 42 may be arranged perpendicularly adjacent the mountfront edge 30 and the mountright edge 36 in order to read a horizontal and vertical axis in planes parallel to thelevel mount 28. Eachsemi-cylindrical level 42 may have a pair ofparallel center lines 46 to find the level position. The hemisphericalmulti-axis level 44 may have acentral circle line 48 as well a pair ofcross lines 50 to assist the user in making adjustments on additional axes. Each of the plurality oflevels 38 may be either a spirit level or a digital level. - In use, the user wears the
glove body 12 like a traditional work glove and positions his or her hand such that thelevel mount 28 lies parallel to the plane being positioned. The user then reads each of the plurality oflevels 38 to achieve the desired position without having to hold a separate level. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
