  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention
  • The disclosure relates to tablet case devices and more particularly pertains to a new tablet case device for securing a tablet to a person's waist.
  • (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98
  • The prior art relates to tablet case devices. Existing cases protect tablets in a variety of ways and may include handle attachments. Known devices lack a way of wearing the tablet around a user's waist.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a case body having a case back side, a case sidewall, and a case lip extending from the case sidewall. The case sidewall and the case lip are elastically deformable to receive and secure a tablet within the case body. A plurality of belt attachments is coupled to the case body. Each belt attachment is coupled to an outer face of the case sidewall at a corner thereof. A belt is coupled to the plurality of belt attachments. The belt has a pair of attachment clips with each attachment clip being selectively engageable with the plurality of belt attachments.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is an isometric view of a waist belt tablet case apparatus according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a top plan view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is an isometric view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a bottom plan view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new tablet case device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the waist belt tablet case apparatus 10 generally comprises a case body 12 having a case back side 14, a case sidewall 16, and a case lip 18 extending from the case sidewall 16. The case lip 18 may lie in a plane parallel with a plane of the case back side 14. The case sidewall 16 and the case lip 18 are sufficiently elastically deformable to receive and secure a tablet 20 within the case body 12. The case back side 14 may have a plurality of apertures 22 extending therethrough to expose features of the tablet 20. The case lip 18 may have a camera notch 24 to accommodate a front camera 26 of the tablet.
  • A plurality of belt attachments 28 is coupled to the case body 12. The plurality of belt attachments 28 may be four belt attachments 28. Each belt attachment 28 is coupled to an outer face 30 of the case sidewall at a corner 32 thereof. An apex 34 of each belt attachment may be rounded.
  • A handle 36 is coupled to the case body 12. The handle 36 is coupled to the outer face 30 of the case sidewall. The handle 36 may be arcuate and coupled to a bottom portion 38 of the case sidewall. The handle 36 may be dimensioned to be sufficiently large enough to be secured by the entirety of an adult's hand.
  • A belt 40 is coupled to the plurality of belt attachments 28. The belt 40 has a pair of attachment clips 42. Each attachment clip 42 may have a U-shaped portion 44 and a head portion 46 with a spring-loaded catch arm 48. The catch arm 48 is selectively engageable with the plurality of belt attachments 28. The belt 40 is selectively engageable with any two belt attachments 28 of the plurality of belt attachments to achieve the desired orientation of the tablet 20 relative the user. The belt 40 may include a first half 50 having a buckle 52 and a second half 54 having a receiver 56. The buckle 52 and the receiver 56 are selectively engageable to more easily engage or disengage the belt 40 onto the user's waist. The length of the first half 50 is selectively adjustable within the buckle 52.
  • In use, the tablet 20 is engaged within the case body 12. The pair of attachment clips 42 are then engaged with the desired belt attachments 28 depending on whether the user wants the tablet 20 secured in portrait or landscape orientation. The belt 40 is placed around the user's waist and the buckle 52 is engaged in the receiver 56. The user may thus drop the tablet 20 without fear of creating damage and may also carry the tablet 20 while keeping his or her hands free.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
