- The disclosure relates to bathroom sanitation devices and more particularly pertains to a new bathroom sanitation device for protecting and concealing the toilet base.
- The prior art relates to bathroom sanitation devices. Most existing devices are placed on the floor around a toilet to protect the floor without providing any protection or coverage to the toilet itself. Other devices attempt to cover the entirety of the toilet bowl and the floor around it. Known devices do not wrap around the toilet bowl or extend only to the floor.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cover body having an outer side, an inner side, a top edge, a bottom edge, a left edge, and a right edge. The cover body is substantially flexible to conform to the shape of a toilet. A cover height of the left edge and the right edge is configured to extend from a rim of the toilet to proximal the floor. A plurality of bowl clips is coupled to the curtain. The plurality of bowl is coupled proximal the top edge of the curtain and is configured to selectively engage the rim of the toilet.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an isometric view of a toilet bowl protective skirt apparatus according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a rear elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is an isometric in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a side elevation in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new bathroom sanitation device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the toilet bowlprotective skirt apparatus 10 generally comprises acover body 12 having anouter side 14, aninner side 16, atop edge 18, abottom edge 20, aleft edge 22, and aright edge 24. Thecover body 12 is substantially flexible to conform to the shape of atoilet 26. Acover height 28 of theleft edge 22 and theright edge 24 is configured to extend from arim 30 of the toilet to thefloor 32. - The
cover body 12 may have a reinforcedportion 34 along thetop edge 18 and extending from theleft edge 22 to theright edge 24 and acurtain portion 36 extending from the reinforcedportion 34 to thebottom edge 20. The reinforcedportion 34 may be a rectangular strip of a rubberized, plasticized, or otherwise durable, waterproof, and elastically resilient material. Thecurtain portion 36 may be a rubberized, or otherwise durable, waterproof, and foldable material. The reinforcedportion 34 may have a plurality ofattachment apertures 38 extending therethrough. - A plurality of
bowl clips 40 is coupled to thecurtain 12 proximal thetop edge 18 and configured to selectively engage therim 30 of the toilet. Eachbowl clip 40 of the plurality of bowl clips may have aclip body 42 and a clip fastener 44 selectively engageable with the plurality ofattachment apertures 38. Theclip body 42 may be a squared U-shape with amedial section 45 configured to span across therim 30. Theclip body 42 may be elastically deformable to increase separation between anouter section 46 and aninner section 48 when pushed onto therim 30 to create a secure fit. - At least one
strap 50 is coupled to thecover body 12. Eachstrap 50 has aproximal end 52 coupled to thecover body 12 adjacent thetop edge 18 and proximal theleft edge 22 and adistal end 54 having afirst engagement member 56. The at least onestrap 50 may be a pair ofstraps 50. Eachstrap 50 may be pivotably attached to the reinforcedportion 34 of the cover body to allow for easier manipulation during installation. - At least one
second engagement member 58 is coupled to thecover body 12. Eachsecond engagement member 58 is coupled to the cover body adjacent thetop edge 18 and proximal theright edge 24. Thesecond engagement members 58 may be arranged horizontally along the reinforcedportion 34 of thecover body 12. Thefirst engagement members 56 are selectively engageable with thesecond engagement members 58 to secure thestraps 50 across thetoilet 26 behind therim 30. Thefirst engagement members 56 and thesecond engagement members 58 may be selectively engageable fasteners such as, but not limited to, snaps, hook-and-loop fasteners, buttons, and the like. - At least one
storage pocket 60 may be coupled to theouter side 14 of the cover body. The at least onestorage pocket 60 may be a pair ofstorage pockets 60 coupled adjacent theleft edge 22 and theright edge 24 of thecurtain portion 36 of the cover body. Eachstorage pocket 60 may be mesh to avoid collecting moisture. Thestorage pockets 60 are configured to secure sanitation items such as, but not limited to,air fresheners 62,cleaning wipes 64, sponges, and the like. - In use, the plurality of
bowl clips 40 is attached to thecover body 12 and then engaged with therim 30 of the toilet. Eachbowl clip 40 is then positioned to allow thecurtain portion 36 of the cover body to cover as much of thetoilet 26 as possible. Thefirst engagement members 56 are then engaged with thesecond engagement members 58 to secure thestraps 50 onto thetoilet 26. Thetoilet 26 may then be used as normal while being protected from urine and other unsightly liquid build up. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
