- The disclosure and prior art relates to protection devices and more particularly pertains to a new protection device for protecting a floor and a bathroom from urine.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a mat that may be positioned on a floor thereby facilitating the mat to be aligned with a urinal. In this way the mat absorbs urine spilled from users of the urinal. The mat has deodorizing properties to reduce odors from the urine. An adhesive layer is coupled to the mat to adhesively engage the floor thereby retaining the mat in a selected position on the floor.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a floor protection assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view taken along line 4-4 ofFIG. 3 of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 6 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new protection device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 6 , thefloor protection assembly 10 generally comprises amat 12 that may be positioned on afloor 14 thereby facilitating themat 12 to be aligned with a urinal 16. Themat 12 is comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb urine spilled from users of theurinal 16. The urinal 16 may be a urinal 16 in a bathroom located in a commercial environment, such as a restaurant or the like. Themat 12 has deodorizing properties to reduce odors associated with the urine. Themat 12 has afirst surface 18, asecond surface 20 and aperipheral edge 22 extending therebetween. Thesecond surface 20 abuts thefloor 14 when themat 12 is positioned on thefloor 14. Moreover, theperipheral edge 22 slopes downwardly between thefirst surface 18 and thesecond surface 20 thereby reducing a tripping hazard associated with theperipheral edge 22. - An
adhesive layer 24 is provided and theadhesive layer 24 is coupled to themat 12. Theadhesive layer 24 adhesively engages thefloor 14 thereby retaining themat 12 in a selected position on thefloor 14. Theadhesive layer 24 is positioned on thesecond surface 20 of themat 12 and theadhesive layer 24 completely covers thesecond surface 20. Theadhesive layer 24 may be comprised of a single use, non-residual adhesive or the like. In analternative embodiment 25 as shown inFIG. 5 , theperipheral edge 22 may have afirst side 26 and a second side 28. The second side 28 may be concavely arcuate with respect to thefirst side 26. Additionally, thefirst side 26 may have aslot 30 extending toward the second side 28 for receiving abase 32 of atoilet 34. - A
chemical sanitizer 36 is infused into themat 12 to sanitize the urine. Thechemical sanitizer 36 may be a liquid sanitizer of any conventional design that is capable of killing bacteria and viruses. Achemical sanitizer 36 is infused into themat 12 to eliminate odors associated with the urine. Additionally, thechemical sanitizer 36 may be an industrial sanitizer approved for use in a food preparation environment. Thechemical deodorant 38 may be a liquid deodorant of any conventional design that is capable of eliminating odors associated with urine. Additionally, thechemical deodorant 38 may be an industrial deodorant approved for use in a food preparation environment. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
