Description
- This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/834,480 filed on Apr. 16, 2019. The above identified patent application is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure.
- The present invention relates to an adjustable furniture cover. More specifically, the present invention provides a solution to the problem of securely and effectively covering furniture.
- Furniture routinely needs to be relocated, stored or transported. For example, when an individual moves to a different residence, he or she will need to package their furniture in order to take it with them. The relocation process is already made more difficult with furniture, as furniture is heavy. Additionally, the risk of damaging furniture is extremely high when it is being relocated. Damage can occur from dropping the furniture, allowing items to fall onto the furniture, storing the furniture incorrectly on the transportation vessel, or by various weather elements that the furniture may be exposed to during the relocation process. Furniture may incur scratches or scrapes while moving through doorways or pathways where other objects may be present.
- When furniture is stored, it can be exposed to dust, dirt and debris. When this occurs, the furniture needs to be cleaned before it can be used again. Additionally, stored furniture may be at risk for water damage, which can not only weaken the furniture structurally, but can also lead to the proliferation of mold or mildew upon the surfaces and padding of the furniture. This can be unsafe for the individuals utilizing the furniture.
- Current solutions to the problems of unprotected or improperly protected furniture, such as the covering of furniture with large blankets, have proven to be ineffective at preventing damage to furniture. These methods also typically fail to protect the entirety of the surfaces of the furniture. Additionally, covering furniture with blankets is as time-consuming as it is ineffective. Shrink wrap is also used commonly, however, it is ineffective at protecting the furniture from scrapes and scratches. Furthermore, shrink wrap is not environmentally friendly and is not reusable. Moving blanks are also commonly utilized, but due to the dimensions of traditional furniture, numerous blankets are utilized, making this method inefficient and time-consuming.
- Therefore, there is a defined need amongst the known methods and apparatuses for covering furniture for a device that more effectively and efficiently covers furniture for storage and transport.
- In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of furniture covering and protection apparatuses now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an adjustable furniture cover wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when covering and protecting furniture during storage or transportation.
- The present system comprises a flexible body. The flexible body is dimensioned to cover a furniture piece, such as a chair, throne, couch, sofa or other piece of furniture. A first cord is disposed about a rear portion of the flexible body. A second cord is disposed around a perimeter edge of the flexible body. The first cord and the second cord are configured to secure the flexible body to the furniture piece on which the adjustable furniture cover is to be secured.
- Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.
