The foldable sofa of the invention facilitates easy assembly of the arms to the body to enable even an unexperienced person to realize easy furniture assembly.

- The invention relates to a novel foldable sofa used in the industry of furniture.
- Sofa (also known as sofa bed) is a furniture with a dimension sufficient enough for seating of at least two or more people, coated with fabric, having mattress pillows therein or thereon, and having a backrest and arms for leaning.
- The oldest known form is a sofa used in the 17th century that can be converted into a bed by lowering the sides thereof. It has various forms for its backrest and arms, and has become a part of a seating group in the 20th century.
- Furnitures have a crucial importance in human life. Comfort and peace sought by people needing physical and spiritual resting can be acquired by means of a handy and well-furnished furniture. An improper furniture causes psychological discomfort and uneasiness along with harms such as back pain, muscle pain, back pain and foot pain. Moreover, it deforms and wears off ahead of time, and after a short while, it needs to be fixed and renewed. Hence, furniture selection should be handled carefully.
- Nowadays, it constitutes a problem that a furniture would not fit into vehicles during internet sales of sofas and desire to assemble the furniture by a consumer. Also, transportation cost of the product increases.
- The present invention relates to a novel foldable sofa improved to eliminate aforementioned disadvantages and bring new advantages to the related field.
- The invention relates to a functional and light novel foldable sofa enabling easy assembly and practical transportation.
- The advantages of a novel foldable sofa of the invention are as follows:
- The sofa can be diminished to cargo-sending dimensions for internet sales.
- Also, a customer can purchase and carry the same to his/her home easily, and even an unexperienced person can handle the assembly easily.
- Costs of transportations are reduced with the easy fitting of the furniture inside vehicles.
- It is easy and practical to fix and renew.
- Exemplary implementations of the present invention briefly summarized above and to be handled in detail below in accordance with one or more embodiments thereof are merely presented for illustrative purposes, and only exhibits some examples and/or embodiments of the invention. These drawings are provided for a better understanding of the invention by a reader, and should not be interpreted as a restriction for the scope and applicability of the invention. It is noted that these drawing are not scaled for clarity and ease of drawing.

- In this detailed description, preferred alternatives of the novel foldable sofa of the invention are explained for a better understanding of the invention and without any restrictive qualities.
- The invention relates to a novel foldable sofa of the invention facilitation easy assembly of the arms to the body for enabling even an unexperienced person to realize an easy furniture assembly.
- The invention is a novel foldable sofa of the invention characterized in that it comprises a foldable body (4) comprising fish bolt and bolt parts functioning as hinges to one another and enabling the ability to move in horizontal and vertical axes thanks to said parts and thusly enabling the folding thereof; a first body (a) and a second body (b) parts connected to said body (4) with said fish bolt and bolt, and being foldable in horizontal and vertical axes and having equivalent functions.

FIG. 1 shows a general mounted version of the novel foldable sofa of the invention. The novel foldable sofa of the invention consists of a foldable mechanism (1), at least two sofa arms (2) and a high foot (5) parts. The foldable mechanism (1) is divided into two equivalent sections with the same functions as a first body (a) and a second body (b). - Said first body (a) and second body (b) has the same mechanism, and as a whole comprises a foldable body (4) enabling movement in horizontal and vertical axes and thusly folding of the sofa.
- The novel foldable sofa of the invention has a high foot (5). In order to provide a feature of storage (chest), the seating (font) portion (1-a) is emptied and the storage area is increased. Thanks to this emptying, a storage area (chest) (1-b) is constituted. The sofa arm (2) is inserted into said storage area (chest) (1-b), thusly the volume is diminished and an easy transportation is enabled.

FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the assembly of the sofa arm of the novel foldable sofa of the invention. The sofa arm (2) is mounted to the foldable mechanism (1) from the click-fit arm connection (3). A click-fit system is used for assembly of the sofa arm (2) to the foldable mechanism (1). The foldable mechanism (1) and the sofa arm (2) can be assembled together thanks to the click-fit arm connection (3) in the sofa arm (2) and the foldable mechanism (1). After interconnecting the foldable mechanism (1) and the sofa arm (2) with the click-fit system, the sofa arm (2) is mounted by being pressed downwards. -
FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of the novel foldable sofa of the invention. In the novel foldable sofa of the invention, the body (4) passes through the first body (a) and the second body (b), and has a foldable feature. There is the first body (a) on one side of the foldable body (4), and the second body (b) on the other side. As mentioned, the foldable body (4) passes through the first body (a) and the second body (b), connects with the fish bolt and the bolt functioning as hinges during manufacture, and also can be manufactured without the need for additional assembly. - The first body (a) and the second body (b) are connected to one another with the fish bolt and the bolt functioning as hinges, and mounted to the foldable body (4) during manufacture. Thusly, no additional assembly is required.

FIG. 4 shows, in perspective, the manner of folding of the novel foldable sofa of the invention during transportation. The manner of folding of the novel sofa of the invention is shown, in perspective, inFIG. 4a ,FIG. 4b andFIG. 4c , respectively. - Initially,
FIG. 4 -a shows the backrest portion (1-c) folded onto the seating portion (1-b), and in a telescopic manner. Then,FIG. 4 -b shows an open status in which the first body (a) is about to be folded onto the second body (b), or the second body (b) is about to be folded onto the first body (a). - In
FIG. 4 -c, the second body (b) representatively is folded onto the first body (a) in a closed manner. In this situation, depending on the preference, the first body (a) can be folded onto the second body (b), or the second body (b) can be folded onto the first body (a). - The backrest portion (1-c) of the novel foldable sofa of the invention is folded onto the seating portion (1-b). Thusly, it gains an ability to be converted into a bed, and located in a linear position. In
FIG. 5 , the ability of the novel foldable sofa of the invention to converted into a bed is shown in perspective.
Claims (9)
1. A foldable sofa of the invention, comprising:
a foldable body being comprised of fish bolt and bolt parts functioning as hinges to one another and enabling ability to move in horizontal and vertical axes thanks to said parts and thusly enabling the folding thereof;
a first body part; and
a second body parts connected to said body with said fish bolt and bolt, and being foldable in horizontal and vertical axes and having corresponding functions.
2. The sofa, according to claim 1 , further comprising: a foldable mechanism, at least two sofa arms and a high foot parts.
3. The sofa, according to claim 1 , further comprising: a foldable mechanism divided into two equivalent sections with the same functions as a first body part and a second body part.
4. The sofa, according to claim 1 , further comprising: seating portion emptied to provide a feature of storage and thusly providing the increase of the storage area and constituting the storage area.
5. The sofa, according to claim 1 , further comprising: a sofa arm placed inside the storage area.
6. The sofa, according to claim 1 , further comprising: a sofa arm mounted to the foldable mechanism from the click-fit arm connection by a click-fit system by being pressed downwards.
7. The sofa, according to claim 1 , wherein said foldable body passes through the first body and the second body, connected with the fish bolt and bolt functioning as hinges during manufacture and being manufactured without the need of being mounted.
8. The sofa, according to claim 1 , wherein the first body folds onto the second body, or the second body folds onto the first body.
9. The sofa, according to claim 1 , further comprising: a backrest portion is folded onto a seating portion in order to provide the ability to be converted into a bed in a linear position.
