Abstract
A golf tee tethering assembly for inhibiting a rubber mat tee from flying away during golf practice includes a rubber mat tee that is positionable on a rubber golfing mat to have a golf ball positioned thereon for striking. A washer is positioned around the rubber mat tee and a tether is coupled to the washer. A fastener is coupled to the tether on an opposite end of the tether from the ring. The fastener releasably engages a shaft of a golf club such that the rubber mat tee is retained on the golf club. The golf club is laid on the rubber golf mat and the rubber mat tee is positioned at a chosen spot on the rubber golf mat. Thus, the tether inhibits the rubber mat tee from flying away when the golf ball is struck from the rubber mat tee.

- The disclosure and prior art relates to tethering devices and more particularly pertains to a new tethering device for inhibiting a rubber mat tee from flying away during golf practice.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a rubber mat tee that is positionable on a rubber golfing mat to have a golf ball positioned thereon for striking.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a golf tee tethering assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 3 thereof, a new tethering device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 3 , the golftee tethering assembly 10 generally comprises arubber mat tee 12 that is positionable on arubber golfing mat 14. Thus, agolf ball 16 can be positioned on therubber mat tee 12 for striking. Therubber golfing mat 14 may be arubber golfing mat 14 commonly found on golf driving ranges or the like and therubber mat tee 12 may be arubber mat tee 12 of any conventional design. Therubber mat tee 12 has abase 17 and astem 18 extending upwardly from thebase 17. - The
base 17 has alower surface 20 and atop surface 22, and thelower surface 20 rests on therubber golfing mat 14 when therubber mat tee 12 is placed on therubber golfing mat 14. Thestem 18 extends upwardly from thetop surface 22 and thestem 18 has adistal end 24 with respect to thetop surface 22. Thedistal end 24 is open wherein to accommodate thegolf ball 16 having thegolf ball 16 being stationary on thedistal end 24. Additionally, thestem 18 may be manufactured in a variety of heights for accommodatingdifferent golf club 42 styles and preferences of golfers. - A
washer 26 is positionable around therubber mat tee 12 and thewasher 26 has an opening 28 extending therethrough. Thewasher 26 is positioned on therubber mat tee 12 having thestem 18 extending through the opening 28 and having thewasher 26 lying on thebase 17. Aring 30 extends through thewasher 26 such that thering 30 is coupled to thewasher 26. - A
tether 32 is coupled to thering 30 and thetether 32 is comprised of a resiliently stretchable material. Thetether 32 has afirst end 34 and asecond end 36, and thefirst end 34 is coupled to thering 30. Thetether 32 may have a length ranging between 6.0 inches and 10.0 inches, and thetether 32 may be stretchable to a maximum length of approximately 24.0 inches. Afastener 38 is coupled to thetether 32 on an opposite end of thetether 32 from thering 30. Thefastener 38 releasably engages ashaft 40 of agolf club 42 such that therubber mat tee 12 is retained on thegolf club 42. Thefastener 38 may be a D-ring or any other type of releasable, mechanical fastener 38 that can engage ashaft 40 and thefastener 38 is coupled to thesecond end 36 of thetether 32. - In use, the
fastener 38 is positioned on agolf club 42 that is not currently being used. Thegolf club 42 is subsequently laid on therubber golf mat 14 and therubber mat tee 12 is positioned at a chosen spot on therubber golf mat 14. Thegolf ball 16 is positioned on thestem 18 of therubber mat tee 12 and thegolf ball 16 is struck in the convention of golfing. Thetether 32 inhibits therubber mat tee 12 from flying away when thegolf ball 16 is struck from therubber mat tee 12. Additionally, a plurality ofrubber mat tees 12 can be interchanged in thewasher 26 thereby facilitating thegolf ball 16 to be positioned at a variety of heights for striking. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
