Abstract

A golf tee tethering assembly for inhibiting a rubber mat tee from flying away during golf practice includes a rubber mat tee that is positionable on a rubber golfing mat to have a golf ball positioned thereon for striking. A washer is positioned around the rubber mat tee and a tether is coupled to the washer. A fastener is coupled to the tether on an opposite end of the tether from the ring. The fastener releasably engages a shaft of a golf club such that the rubber mat tee is retained on the golf club. The golf club is laid on the rubber golf mat and the rubber mat tee is positioned at a chosen spot on the rubber golf mat. Thus, the tether inhibits the rubber mat tee from flying away when the golf ball is struck from the rubber mat tee.

  • The disclosure and prior art relates to tethering devices and more particularly pertains to a new tethering device for inhibiting a rubber mat tee from flying away during golf practice.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a rubber mat tee that is positionable on a rubber golfing mat to have a golf ball positioned thereon for striking.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a golf tee tethering assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 3 thereof, a new tethering device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 3, the golf tee tethering assembly 10 generally comprises a rubber mat tee 12 that is positionable on a rubber golfing mat 14. Thus, a golf ball 16 can be positioned on the rubber mat tee 12 for striking. The rubber golfing mat 14 may be a rubber golfing mat 14 commonly found on golf driving ranges or the like and the rubber mat tee 12 may be a rubber mat tee 12 of any conventional design. The rubber mat tee 12 has a base 17 and a stem 18 extending upwardly from the base 17.
  • The base 17 has a lower surface 20 and a top surface 22, and the lower surface 20 rests on the rubber golfing mat 14 when the rubber mat tee 12 is placed on the rubber golfing mat 14. The stem 18 extends upwardly from the top surface 22 and the stem 18 has a distal end 24 with respect to the top surface 22. The distal end 24 is open wherein to accommodate the golf ball 16 having the golf ball 16 being stationary on the distal end 24. Additionally, the stem 18 may be manufactured in a variety of heights for accommodating different golf club 42 styles and preferences of golfers.
  • A washer 26 is positionable around the rubber mat tee 12 and the washer 26 has an opening 28 extending therethrough. The washer 26 is positioned on the rubber mat tee 12 having the stem 18 extending through the opening 28 and having the washer 26 lying on the base 17. A ring 30 extends through the washer 26 such that the ring 30 is coupled to the washer 26.
  • A tether 32 is coupled to the ring 30 and the tether 32 is comprised of a resiliently stretchable material. The tether 32 has a first end 34 and a second end 36, and the first end 34 is coupled to the ring 30. The tether 32 may have a length ranging between 6.0 inches and 10.0 inches, and the tether 32 may be stretchable to a maximum length of approximately 24.0 inches. A fastener 38 is coupled to the tether 32 on an opposite end of the tether 32 from the ring 30. The fastener 38 releasably engages a shaft 40 of a golf club 42 such that the rubber mat tee 12 is retained on the golf club 42. The fastener 38 may be a D-ring or any other type of releasable, mechanical fastener 38 that can engage a shaft 40 and the fastener 38 is coupled to the second end 36 of the tether 32.
  • In use, the fastener 38 is positioned on a golf club 42 that is not currently being used. The golf club 42 is subsequently laid on the rubber golf mat 14 and the rubber mat tee 12 is positioned at a chosen spot on the rubber golf mat 14. The golf ball 16 is positioned on the stem 18 of the rubber mat tee 12 and the golf ball 16 is struck in the convention of golfing. The tether 32 inhibits the rubber mat tee 12 from flying away when the golf ball 16 is struck from the rubber mat tee 12. Additionally, a plurality of rubber mat tees 12 can be interchanged in the washer 26 thereby facilitating the golf ball 16 to be positioned at a variety of heights for striking.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
