Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for dispensing paper sections of a predetermined length in accordance with the pre-characterizing clause of claim 1 .
  • a device of this type is known from DE 20 03 354 A.
  • This prior-art device comprises a perforating device for dividing the paper web into individual sheets that comprises a rotatable knife with a perforating cutting edge and a slotted roller, which rotates synchronously with the knife and comprises a slit for accommodating the knife.
  • the cutting edge of the knife is embodied with a sawtooth shape.
  • the knife comprises a plurality of grooves, into which engage the ridges of a counterpart when the knife is moving into the immediate vicinity of the slotted roller and is moving past it in a rotating manner.
  • the knife passes the slotted roller in a rotating manner, so that the radially outer part of the knife engages into the slit and the knife's cutting edge perforates the entire width of the paper web, with the exception of those parts of the paper web that are situated opposite the grooves.
  • the unperforated portions of the web possess sufficient tensile force to allow the user to pull the paper web from the dispenser using a gentle steady pulling force.
  • DE 28 14 792 A1 relates to a device for issuing paper sections of a predetermined length and comprises a device for separating the paper section from the paper web wound onto a paper roll and for allowing easy access to the paper web following the dispensing of the separated paper section, whereby the device is operated by pulling on a paper end.
  • the device consists of at least one cutting roller, which has a width that corresponds to at least the width of the paper web, and which features a cutting line that at least partially encloses an angle ⁇ —different from zero—with the generatrix of the cutting roller.
  • the cutting roller comprises a fixed knife, which substantially extends over the entire width of the roller and protrudes from the roller shell.
  • a pressure roller which has a slit-shaped opening that matches the knife arrangement.
  • the two rollers are coupled to each other by means of geared wheels, which possess a partial circle diameter that corresponds to the roller diameters, and which effect a synchronous movement of the roller in such a way that the paper web—stretched tightly across the slit-shaped opening—is perforated by a knife, whereby during the course of this cutting process the knife penetrates into the slit-shaped opening.
  • the knife comprises a cutting edge that is embodied sawblade-like.
  • a cutting line of the knife forms an angle ⁇ with the generatrix of the cutting roller, whereby the angle corresponds to the constant angle of inclination of the helical line. Pulling the end of the paper web results in a rotation of the cutting roller by way of frictional contact.
  • the knife engaging the paper web which has been stretched tight with the help of the deflection roll, marks the start of the separation process of the paper section from the subsequent paper web. This separating process is not completed before the end of the knife engages with the paper web and a sufficiently large piece of the following paper web protrudes from the dispenser and is easily accessible by hand for the subsequent paper dispensing process.
  • AT 509 751 A1 relates to a paper dispenser for the sheet-wise dispensing of paper, which protrudes from the dispenser housing in a standby position so that it can be pulled off the supply roll manually.
  • the paper web may already have been subjected to prior cross-perforation, but also may be cut in the dispenser, e.g. by carrying it over a cutting roller, from which a knife is extended and retracted as a function of rotational position. In this, the
  • the dispenser is operated purely mechanically, i.e. the user takes hold of the protruding end of the paper web and pulls.
  • This sets in motion a feed roller in the interior, which preferably is identical to the cutting roller.
  • the feed roller laterally comprises a geared wheel as a standby-drive, a slotted link for controlling a stop, and a spring-loaded continued-transport device to take over the actuation until the rotation of the feed roller has been completed, after the paper has been torn off and is no longer available for the further operation.
  • EP 1 153 565 A1 relates to a mechanism for cutting and providing sections of a tape material, in particular paper towels, comprising at least one cylinder, which in a support structure is free to rotate about one axis and drags along an end section of at least one web, whereby arranged in the cylinder is/are one or several movable knife/s, which may protrude from the cylinder for cutting the end section of the paper web, whereby the knifes are connected to a shaft that is free to rotate about one axis, e.g. oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder.
  • the shaft comprises at least one first means, which protrudes from one side of the cylinder and is free to rotate about an angular portion of a circumference.
  • the rotational movement is effected by at least one second means, which shifts along a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the movable knife and rotates about the axis, whereby the rotation-translation movement of this second means is synchronized to the rotational movement of the cylinder.
  • the rotational movement of the cylinder is initially started by pulling on the paper web for a distance equivalent to half a rotation, whereby subsequently the second half rotation is caused by a tension spring, which is connected between a side wall and a geared wheel that is connected to the axle of the cylinder.
  • a knife with a sawtooth geometry is used for cutting the paper.
  • DE 36 90 545 T1 relates to a dispenser for rolls of flexible tape material, comprising a feed roll and a cutter blade.
  • the cutter blade consists of a series of teeth, which are arranged some distance from each other along the length of the blade.
  • four pairs of teeth are present along the length of the blade, whereby these pairs of teeth are separated by cut-outs.
  • Employing this shape of cutting edge allows the cutting action that is performed on the web of the flexible band material when it is supplied via the feed roll to result in a straight cut that extends in parallel to the axis of the feed roll, but this leaves three small sections of the web uncut, which correspond to the width of the sections and to the length of the sections still on the circumferential surface of the feeder roll.
  • the objective of the present invention is to further develop a device of the type mentioned above in a way so that paper webs of high strength and elasticity can be cut and dispensed in a reliable and trouble-free manner.
  • the device for dispensing paper sections of a predetermined length should be capable of cutting and dispensing paper webs of different strength and elasticity reliably and in a trouble-free manner.
  • a geared wheel that is coupled to the cutting roller or the pressure roller is eccentrically coupled to a tension spring, in that pulling the end of the paper web results in the paper web being stretched tightly along a circumferential surface of the pressure roller and being cut sectionally while maintaining residual strands, by the penetration of the knife from the outside into the slit-shaped opening, to effect both the separation of the paper section and a tensioning of the tension spring to a turn-around point, and in that after the turn-around point has been overcome, both the knife roll and the pressure roll continue to be moved in opposite directions to dispense the paper section and a new paper end by the contraction of the tension spring.
  • Arranging the cutting roller outwardly of the pressure roller that cuts the paper web in sections while maintaining residual strands achieves the advantage that the knife engages with the slit-shaped opening of the pressure roller from the outside, which ensures a precise and trouble-free cut compared to the current prior art, in particular for paper webs of high strength and elasticity. Tearing off the paper end is simple, since the paper end is connected to the paper web only via the remaining strands.
  • the automatic dispensing of the paper section is supported by the knife and pressure roller, whereby a user has access to a new paper end with an edge that extends in parallel to the dispensing opening.
  • this has the advantage that the paper can be taken hold of easily and securely.
  • a first end of the tension spring is connected eccentrically to the geared wheel of the cutting roller and that a second end of the tension spring is connected to a housing section, whereby an effective line of the tension spring extends perpendicular to a line that connects the axles of the geared wheels.
  • the geared wheels form a transmission with a 1:1 transmission ratio. This ensures that the cutting roller rotates synchronously with, but in the opposite rotational direction as the pressure roller.
  • a circumferential surface of the cutting roller is arranged at a distance from a circumferential surface of the pressure roller.
  • the knife comprises a knife blade with teeth and/or groups of teeth, which are spaced apart along the length of the knife blade, whereby the teeth or groups of teeth are separated from each other by cut-outs, whereby each of the cut-outs has two cutting edges, which extend in parallel to each other and transversely to the longitudinal extent of the knife, and that at least one of the cutting edges is a cutting edge of a tooth bordering the cut-out or of a group of teeth bordering the cut-out.
  • the slit-shaped opening of the pressure roller has bridges extending in the circumferential direction, whereby a width and a separation of the bridges corresponds to a spacing of the cut-outs of the knife, so that during a relative movement between the cutting roller and the pressure roller the bridges engage into the cut-outs and interact with the cutting edges in a scissor-like manner.
  • the invention's embodiment of the knife in combination with the slit-shaped opening and the bridges extending along the circumferential direction allows cutting the paper web precisely and with little required force, so that the continued transport of the paper section and the subsequent tearing off the paper section are facilitated in an uncomplicated manner.
  • Arranging the cutting roller outwardly of the pressure roller also realizes the advantage that the knife engages into the slit-shaped opening of the pressure roller from the outside, which ensures a precise and error-free cut, in particular for a paper web of high density and elasticity.
  • the knife edge which protrudes from the cutting roller, forming an angled section.
  • the cutting roller can comprise two sections with semi-circular cross-section, whereby the blade of the knife is fixed in position, e.g. clamped, between the semi-circular sections. This ensure an uncomplicated assembly and simple servicing when exchanging the knife.
  • the cutting roller comprises grooves along its circumferential surface, each of which corresponds to one of the cut-outs, whereby the width and depth of a groove corresponds to the width and depth of the cut-out.
  • the spacing between the bridges of the pressure roller corresponds to the width of a groups of teeth of the knife edge.
