Abstract
A highly versatile label includes a label body provided as a double layer and is adapted to define at least one region which is removable from the label body and is adapted to define a drinking glass.
Description
- The present disclosure relates to a highly versatile label, particularly for bottles of beverages and the like. The disclosure relates to a label which is adapted to be applied to bottles containing beverages and to perform the twofold function, once applied, to the bottle said.
- Conventional bottles for beverages widely available on the market are usually sold in a 1.5 liter format, or even in a 2 liter format.
- If the bottle is bought by a group of people, who all wish to drink from that bottle, a problem of hygiene arises, in that the bottle has to be passed from person to person, who usually drink by directly applying the lips to the mouth of the neck of the bottle, and this can lead to the transmission of diseases, and in any case it is unpleasant for the various users to drink from the bottle from which another person has already drunk.
- Also, drinking glasses are not always available in order to pour the contents of the bottle into them, so that each person can drink from their own drinking glass.
- It is also known that bottles are sold with labels which are wrapped circumferentially around the body of the bottle and on which are printed the logos of the maker, the name of the beverage and the like.
- Such labels are usually made of plastic and are wrapped around the bottle so that the two mutually opposite flaps of the label are slightly superimposed in order to be heat-sealed to each other.
- The aim of the present disclosure is to provide a highly versatile label, which can be used both as a normal label for a bottle containing a beverage, and can allow a plurality of persons to consume the contents of the bottle without the bottle needing to pass from person to person in order to drink the contents thereof.
- Within this aim, the present disclosure provides a highly versatile label which can be easily removed from the bottle.
- The present disclosure also provides a highly versatile label which adapts to bottles of different formats.
- The present disclosure further provides a highly versatile label which is highly reliable, easily and practically implemented and low cost.
- These aims and these and other advantages, which will become better apparent hereinafter, are all achieved by providing a highly versatile label, comprising a label body which is provided as a double layer, and is adapted to define at least one region which is removable from said label and is adapted to define a drinking glass.
- Further characteristics and advantages of the disclosure will become better apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of the label according to the present disclosure, which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a plan view of the label according to the present disclosure; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the label according to the present disclosure; -
FIG. 3 is a side view of the label according to the present disclosure; -
FIG. 4 shows the label according to the disclosure applied to a bottle; -
FIG. 5 shows a first step of using the label according to the disclosure applied to the bottle; -
FIG. 6 shows a second step of using the label according to the disclosure; and -
FIG. 7 shows a final step of using the label according to the disclosure. - With reference to the figures, the label according to the disclosure, which is generally designated by the
reference numeral 1, comprises alabel body 2 which is provided at least partially in a double layer, so as to define at least oneregion 3 of thelabel body 2 which can be removed from the label by way of tearing, by virtue of the presence offracture lines 4, and is adapted to be converted, once removed from the surrounding part of the label, to a drinking glass for containing the beverage present in the bottle to which the label is applied. - In the figures, the bottle is generally designated by the
reference numeral 5. - Conveniently, the
label body 2 has at least oneregion 3, which constitutes a form of pocket and is adapted to define a drinking glass, and more preferably a plurality ofregions 3 arranged mutually side by side, all separated from each other by way offracture lines 4, with eachregion 3 being adapted to define a drinking glass for the contents of the bottle. - The side view in
FIG. 3 shows the double layer of thelabel body 2 which is adapted to define the drinking glass. Thedouble layer label 1 is folded inward in a lower region with afold 6 which makes it possible to define, when theregion 3 of thelabel body 2 is manually expanded, thebottom surface 6 of the drinking glass which makes it possible for the drinking glass to be rested on a flat surface. - Conveniently, the
fracture lines 4, which define thedifferent regions 3, which in turn define a corresponding number of drinking glasses which can be obtained from thelabel body 2 according to the disclosure, are lines which are conveniently parallel to each other and substantially at right angles to the upper and lower edges of the label, while theregion 3 is defined by two heat-sealing lines region 3 and adapted so as to define the body of the drinking glass. -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the label according to the disclosure, in which the label is removed from the bottle, but the various drinking glasses defined by theregions 3 have not yet been separated from each other, and thus both thefracture lines 4 and the heat-sealing lines - The
lateral edges fracture lines 4. - The
label body 2 further comprises, at its two mutually opposite ends, afirst region 9 and asecond region 10 which are adapted to make it possible to wrap the label about itself once this is applied to thebottle 5. - In substance, the two regions or
portions label body 2 are adapted to be overlapped on each other when thelabel body 2 is wrapped around thebottle 5. - Naturally the number of
regions 3 that can be defined on thelabel body 2 according to the disclosure is any, being limited solely by the width dimensions of the drinking glasses that it is desired to obtain and naturally by the circumferential dimension of the bottle to which the label is to be applied. -
FIGS. 4 to 7 show a further use of the label according to the disclosure. - The label, which was first applied to the
bottle 5, is then removed from the bottle,FIG. 5 , and,FIG. 6 , the label, once removed, is separated into the separate drinking glasses defined by theregions 3. At this point, each drinking glass is expanded with the fingers so as to open out the fold directed toward the inside which defines thebottom 6 of the drinking glass, as illustrated inFIG. 3 . At this point, the individual drinking glasses can be used normally. - In practice it has been found that the label according to the disclosure fully achieves the set aim and advantages, in that it makes it possible to define at least one, and preferably a plurality of drinking glasses, starting from a double layer label, so that the users who acquire a bottle of a beverage can drink its contents in total hygiene, each one thereof being able to use their own drinking glass.
- The label, thus conceived, is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations.
- Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.
- In practice the materials employed, and the contingent dimensions and shapes, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.
