Description
- The present invention relates to a cup cap and particularly to a stacking cup cap.
- Disposable beverage cup is one of handy items used frequently by many people nowadays. Taiwan patent No. M446764 disclosed a “One time usage cup cap for two people” which includes a cup cap, a cup opening located on the cup cap and a concentric recess for stacking other paper cups. The cup opening is located outside the concentric recess at an edge of the cup cap. After beverage is filled in a cup, the cup cap can be added for sealing. However, its cup opening is open and communicates with the exterior, and the beverage cup is not fully isolated from the exterior. Dust easily drops into the beverage cup that creates annoying problems to users. In addition, in the event that a user buys multiple servings of beverage multiple beverage cups and cup caps have to be stacked over one another to facilitate carrying by the user. The up and down stacking areas are constrained by the cup opening position, hence the concentric recess has to be shrunk in size. As a result, the multiple beverage cups that stack over one another are unstable and prone to toppling down.
- Taiwan patent No. M333128 entitled “Cup cap safety latch structure” proposed a design that includes a movable element, a broken folding line around the movable element and a latch element. The movable element can be pushed to anchor on the latch element to form a drinking orifice usable by users during drinking. Such a design also can avoid direct communication with the exterior and prevent dust from dropping inside. But its cup cap surface for stacking other beverage cups is even smaller than that of M446764 mentioned above. Moreover, when a plurality of beverage cups are stacked over one another the pouch that holds the beverage cups could be easily swayed or incidental impact by users could take place that could incidentally open the movable element that originally covers the drinking orifice. As a result, when the cups are sent to users' hands the dislocated movable element could make users wondering whether the beverage contained in the cup was already being consumed. This could create unnecessary concerns.
- The primary object of the present invention is to solve the problems of the conventional beverage cups of deficiency in stacking stability and ineffective isolation of the drinking orifice with the exterior that results in easy dust contamination.
- To achieve the foregoing object the present invention aims to provide a stacking cup cap to cover a cup body. The cup body includes a cup top rim with a cup opening formed thereon and a cup bottom side remote from the cup opening. The stacking cup cap includes a closing cap anchored on the cup top rim, a sealing lid connected to the closing cap and remote from the cup top rim and a drinking orifice. The sealing lid includes a top holding portion corresponding to the cup bottom side in shape, an annular connection portion surrounded the top holding portion and connected to the closing cap, and a lateral detent wall to bridge the top holding portion and the annular connection portion. The lateral detent wall and the top holding portion jointly form an indented stacking space. The drinking orifice is located on the top holding portion. The stacking space can hold another cup body with the cup bottom side thereof mating the stacking space and the drinking orifice covered by another cup body.
- Through the structure set forth above, the invention can provide advantageous features as follows:
- 1. With the drinking orifice located on the top holding portion the stacking space formed on the sealing lid can be maximized in area to enhance stacking stability of the cup.
- 2. When a plurality of cup bodies are stacked over one another the drinking orifice is covered by another cup body, hence can reduce contact of the drinking orifice with the exterior to reduce the problem of dust dropping into the cup body.
- The foregoing, as well as additional objects, features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the cup cap of the invention. -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the cup cap of the invention. -
