Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a wall-mounted back-scrubbing device that is placed in the shower wall for use.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Many individuals desire a scrubbing of their back as part of personal hygiene and as a consequence several devices have been developed to assist in the cleaning of this particular body part. Some of the devices are handheld and allow the individual to reach certain areas of the back through a sponge or brush with an elongated handle. Other devices have been developed that actually mount on a wall to allow an individual to clean their back through a wall-mounted device. Such devices are effective in scrubbing and massaging the surface area of the back. However, some drawbacks to these devices in that they must be capable of being mounted easily and sustain a stable position on the wall during use.
- The present invention relates to a back scrubbing device comprising: a scrubbing surface; a rear surface; and a plurality of suction cups on the rear surface, where the suction cups are arranged in a top arrangement, a mid arrangement and a bottom arrangement, where the suction cups provide a means adhere the scrubbing device onto a shower wall enclosure. The scrubbing surface may include a series of bristles or alternatively a sponge surface. The top arrangement may preferably include three suction cups, the mid arrangement may preferably include two suction cups and the bottom arrangement may preferably include three suction cups.
-
FIG. 1 depicts a back-scrubbing device in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 2 depicts a rear view of the back-scrubbing device in accordance with the present invention. - The present invention relates to a back-scrubbing device that is mounted on a wall of a shower enclosure. The back-scrubbing device includes a front surface that is covered with bristles or a sponge material for scrubbing abrasion for the user. The reverse or backside of this surface includes a series of suction cups that are arranged in a manner to provide the most effective means of adhering the back-scrubbing device onto the shower enclosure.
- In reference to
FIG. 1 , a back-scrubbing device 100 is depicted. The back-scrubbing device 100 includes a series of bristles or sponges arranged over the surface of ascrubbing surface 40. Thisscrubbing surface 40 is available for the user once the back-scrubbing device is installed within a shower enclosure.FIG. 2 depicts aback surface 45 of the back-scrubbing device 100. Theback surface 45 includesseveral suction cups 42 that are arranged in three zones of configuration. Atop arrangement 47 ofsuction cups 42 is shown in a first arrangement of the suction cups. Amid arrangement 43 ofsuction cups 42 is available below thetop arrangement 47. Below themid arrangement 43 is abottom arrangement 41 ofsuction cups 42. As shown, suction cups 42 are placed at each corner of theback surface 45. Toward a center line two suction cups are provided in vertical alignment, one in thebottom arrangement 41 and a second one in thetop arrangement 42. Between these arrangements two suction cups are provided in themid arrangement 43 horizontally parallel to each other. - Preferably, the back-
scrubbing device 100 in accordance with the present invention is rectangular in shape and therefore conducive for installation into a shower enclosure. The suction cup arrangements provided on the backside of the scrubbing device provides a firm and effective adherence to any shower wall enclosure therefore making the back-scrubbing device available for use within the shower. The back-scrubbing device according to present invention eliminates the need for any handheld method to facilitate the scrubbing of a back. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
