Abstract

A wall mountable back brush for allowing a user to scrub the user's entire back comprising a mounting component having a front surface, a back surface, a securement means and a plurality of bristles. The bristles are on the front surface of the mounting component, which front surface has a concavity for encompassing a user's back. The edges of the concavity are formed by a pair of pillars, which pillars additionally provide structural support and are integral to the mounting component. The attachment means secures the brush to a wall and the attachment means correspond to the locations of the pillars to provide additional strength.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a shower stall wall bush, and more particularly, a Shower stall wall MOUNTED FULL BACK BRUSH.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Numerous innovations for shower stall wall brushes have been provided in the prior art that will be described. Even though these innovations may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, however, they differ from the present invention.
A FIRST EXAMPLE, U.S. Pat. Office Document No. 4,943,018, Published/Issued on Jul. 24, 1990, to Glaser, et al. teaches a wall-mountable back brush (10) comprises a base (12), bristles (14, 16) thereon, and suction cups (20) secured thereto in adjustable spaced apart relationship. The base (12) is preferably curved in accordance with the curvature of the lumbar region.
A SECOND EXAMPLE, U.S. Pat. Office Document No. 5,704,903, Published/Issued on Jan. 6, 1998, to Jahnke teaches a wall mounted back scrubber device includes a generally U-shaped mounting member including a central web portion, a pair of leg portions integral with the web portion, and a pair of outturned flanges integral with the leg portions. Suitable securing means are provided for securing the mounting on a vertical wall. An attachment plate is detachably secured to the mounting member by hooks which project through openings in the mounting member. Sponges formed from soft plastic mesh strips wound into rolls are connected to the attachment plate by the strips. In one embodiment a battery driven vibrator engages the mounting member to impart a vibratory motion to the back scrubber device.
A THIRD EXAMPLE, U.S. Pat. Office Document No. 5,779,653, Published/Issued on Jul. 14, 1998, to Thompson teaches a back scrubbing and massaging apparatus having a backing surface, a plurality of molded multi-fingered clusters extending outwardly from one side of the backing surface, a support bar affixed to an opposite side of the backing surface from the plurality of multi-fingered clusters, and at least one suction cup connected to the backing surface and extending outwardly from the opposite side. The support bar includes a first support bar extending longitudinally along and adjacent to a first edge of the backing surface and a second support bar extending longitudinally along and adjacent to an opposite edge of the backing surface. A first suction cup is affixed to one end of the first support bar. A second suction cup is affixed to an opposite end of the first support bar. A third suction cup is affixed to one end of the second support bar. A fourth suction cup is affixed to an opposite end of the second support bar.
A FOURTH EXAMPLE, U.S. Pat. Office Document No. 5,836,035, Published/Issued on Nov. 17, 1998, to McElfish, et al. teaches a shower back cleaner easily repositionable to optimally interface with the backs of each respective user of the shower, is composed generally, of a mounting rail, a mounting member for connecting the mounting rail to a shower wall, a base, a cleaning member (preferably in the form of a brush or sponge) which is connected with the base, and a cam means for connecting the base to the mounting rail wherein the base is slidable along the mounting rail and is affixable at any selected location along the mounting rail by a simple turn of the base in relation to the mounting rail The cam means is composed of a flanged slot formed in the mounting rail and a cam connected with the base. The cam is trappingly situated in the flanged slot. Rotation of the cam provides a selective amount of abutting force of the cam with respect to sidewalls of the flanged slot, ranging from zero force wherein the base is freely slidable in relation to the mounting rail to a level of force wherein the base is frictionally frozen with respect to the mounting rail.
A FIFTH EXAMPLE, U.S. Patent Office Document No. D332,178, Published/Issued on Jan. 5, 1993, to Proctor, et al. teaches a bath brush for scrubbing one's back.
A SIXTH EXAMPLE, U.S. Patent Office Document No. 20050229347, Published/Issued on Oct. 20, 2005, to Dent D'Almuano teaches a back scrubber for mounting on a wall of a bathroom or shower cubicle comprising a base (10), and a plurality of brushes (20) mounted thereto. The brushes (20) are arranged so that the scrubber has a scrubbing surface which is shaped to fit a user's shoulders, upper arms and back.
It is apparent now that numerous innovations for back brushes have been provided in the prior art that adequate for various purposes. Furthermore, even though these innovations may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, accordingly, they would not be suitable for the purposes of the present invention as heretofore described.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

AN OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a SHOWER STALL WALLMOUNTED FULL BACK BRUSH that avoids the disadvantages of the prior art.
ANOTHER OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a SHOWER STALL WALLMOUNTED FULL BACK BRUSH that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
STILL ANOTHER OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a SHOWER STALL WALLMOUNTED FULL BACK BRUSH that is simple to use.
BRIEFLY STATED, STILL YET ANOTHER OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a SHOWER STALL WALLMOUNTED FULL BACK BRUSH that allows for brushing of the user's whole back at once and is rugged so that it can handle the weight of a user.
The novel features which are considered characteristic of the present invention are set forth in the appended claims. The invention itself, however, both as to its construction and its method of operation, together with additional objects and advantages thereof, will be best understood from the following description of the specific embodiments when read and understood in connection with the accompanying drawing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring now to the figures, in which like numerals indicate like parts, and particularly to FIGS. 1-2, disclosed is a back brush 10 for mounting on a shower stall wall 12 or the like. The back brush 10 comprises a mounting component 14, which mounting component comprises a front surface 16 and a back surface 18. The back brush 10 further comprises a plurality of bristles 20 and a securement device 22.
The bristles 20 are for allowing a user 24 to brush his or her back on the device. To facilitate this, the plurality of bristles 20 are situated on the front surface 16 of the mounting component 14. Further, the front surface 16 of the mounting component 14 forms a concavity 25 with respect to a user 24. The concavity 25 is for encompassing the back of a user 24. This permits the user 24 to brush his or her whole back nearly simultaneously. To secure the brush 10 to the shower stall wall 12 the securement device 22 is situated on said back surface 18 of the mounting component 14.
Referring now to FIGS. 2-4 and 7, it is noted that the mounting component 14 further comprises a first pillar 26 and a second pillar 28. The first pillar 26 and said second pillar 28 form a corresponding first vertical edge 30 and second vertical edge 32 for the concavity 25 of the front surface 16 of the mounting component 14. To facilitate this the pillars 26,28 are formed of a rigid material of sufficient thickness to withstand the weight of a human body leaning against them. This provides the primary structural support of the brush 10. In a preferred construction the pillars 26,28 are integrally formed within the mounting component 14, and the rigid material comprises a rigid plastic material.
Referring now to FIGS. 4-6, disclosed is a first embodiment of a securement device 22 for the brush 10. In the first embodiment, the securement device 22 comprises a plurality of suction cup attachment devices 34. Said suction cups 34 are arranged in vertical rows 36 so that at least one of the vertical rows 36 corresponds to the location of either the first pillar 26 or the second pillar 28, but preferably both as shown in FIG. 6.
Referring now to FIGS. 7-9, disclosed is a second embodiment of a securement device 22 for the brush 10. In the second embodiment, the securement device 22 comprises strips of adhesive 38. Likewise to the first embodiment, at least one of the strips of adhesive 38 corresponds to the location of either the first pillar 26 or the second pillar 28, but preferably both as shown in FIG. 8.
It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together, may also find a useful application in other types of constructions differing from the types described above.
While the invention has been illustrated and described as embodiments of a SHOWER STALL WALL MOUNTED FULL BACK BRUSH, accordingly it is not limited to the details shown, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
Without further analysis, the foregoing will so fully reveal the gist of the present invention that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily adapt it for various applications without omitting features that, from the standpoint of prior art, fairly constitute characteristics of the generic or specific aspects of this invention.

Claims

1. A back brush for mounting on a shower stall wall or the like which comprises:

a) a mounting component, which mounting component comprises:

i) a front surface; and

ii) a back surface;

b) a plurality of bristles; and

c) a securement means;

wherein said bristles are for brushing a back of a user wherein said plurality of bristles are situated on said front surface of said mounting component;

wherein said securement means is situated on said back surface of said mounting component;

wherein said front surface of said mounting component forms a concavity with respect to the user; and

wherein said concavity is for encompassing the back of the user.

2. The brush of claim 1 wherein said mounting component further comprises a first pillar and a second pillar;

wherein said first pillar forms a first vertical edge;

wherein said second pillar forms a second vertical edge; and

wherein said first vertical edge and said second vertical edge are edges for said concavity of said front surface of said mounting component.

3. The brush of claim 2 wherein said pillars are formed of a rigid material of sufficient thickness to withstand the weight of a human body leaning against them.

4. The brush of claim 3 wherein said pillars are integrally formed within said mounting component.

5. The brush of claim 4 wherein said rigid material is a rigid plastic material.

6. The brush of claim 5 wherein said securement means comprises a plurality of suction cups.

7. The brush of claim 6 wherein said suction cups are arranged in vertical rows; and

wherein at least one of said vertical rows corresponds to the location of either said first pillar or said second pillar.

8. The brush of claim 5 wherein said securement means comprises strips of adhesive.

9. The brush of claim 8 wherein at least one of said strips of adhesive corresponds to the location of either said first pillar or said second pillar.
