Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a hair styler, and more particularly, to a hair styler which enables a user to directly fix the user's severe curly hair into straight hair or waved hair, and which heats a hair iron in an indirect heating method when the user fixes the user's hair so that the user can fix the user's hair in safety from burn.
- 2. Background Art
- In general, a hair iron is made in the form of tongs whose two bodies are elastically hinge-coupled at a hand-grip part. The hair iron includes flat heaters which are respectively mounted in opposed sides of the two bodies or semicircular heaters, one of which has a concave surface and the other of which has a convex surface so that the semicircular heaters are matched with each other to fix a user's hair. As a modification of such a hair iron having the above structure, Korean Utility Model Registration No. 0206071 discloses an electric hair iron for forming straight hair which includes combs detachably mounted at both sides of one of the two bodies.
- Moreover, Korean Utility Model Registration No. 0406640 discloses a heating comb device for a hair iron for making hair straight and waved which includes: a body having a groove; a flat-type heating element which is combined to the outer surface of the body and has a guide groove formed on the outer face thereof and an escape hole formed on the opposite face; and comb-teeth which is detachably combined to the inner face of the heating element and has a comb-shaped protrusion formed at an upper side and a guide protrusion formed at a lower side.
- However, the conventional hair irons according to the prior arts have a disadvantage in that it is impossible to maintain a predetermined heating temperature of the heater because it cannot rapidly recover heat loss of the heaters which are in contact with hair due to the fixed type heaters.
- Particularly, if hair is wet, when the heaters come into contact with the wet hair, the hair is dried, and at the same time, surface temperature of the heaters drops rapidly.
- In this instance, because heating temperature applied to the hair is still lower than the user's setting temperature, the heaters which come into contact with the hair are not sufficiently heated, and hence, the conventional hair irons according to the prior arts cannot rapidly do a straight perm, a waved perm or hair drying when the user styles the user's hair.
- Moreover, in a case that the iron has a temperature sensor for maintaining heating temperature set by the user, surface temperature of the heater rapidly drops when the hair iron comes into contact with hair and it takes lots of time to heat the hair iron to the setting temperature in the state where the hair iron gets in contact with hair. Thus, hair shops using the conventional hair irons spend a lot of money due to high electric consumption.
- Furthermore, the conventional hair irons has another disadvantage in that persons who have severely curly hair like Africans cannot style their hair.
- The reason is that coil spring type untamed hair cannot be straightened a little at a time and does not get straightened well.
- Therefore, persons who have severely curly hair shave off hair or braid their hair thinly like dreadlocks to prevent hair from burrowing into the scalp. However, it takes lots of time and money to fix and style hair.
