Abstract

A method of golf ball surface covering including the steps of: placing a dimple pattern over a surface of a golf ball, where the dimple pattern includes a plurality of dimples; and applying at least one color to each dimple. In one particular embodiment, each color applied to each dimple is unique. The present invention creates a golf ball surface cover that includes a plurality of dimples over the surface cover; and a color applied to each dimple provide over the surface cover.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention
The present invention relates to a multiple colored golf ball, which includes a speckled pattern to create a unique look of a golf ball.
2. Description of Related Art
Golf balls are specialized balls used to play golf. Golf is a common recreation and professional sport that requires the striking of a ball with a club in order to eventually hit the ball into a hole at a particular distance from an initial starting point. Golf balls have been designed in various and unique configurations. However, the general golf ball has particular parameters in relation to diameter and size to conform with the regulations of the U.S. Golf Association. In particular, based on the Rules of Golf, a golf ball can be no smaller than 42.67 millimeters and the weight of the ball cannot exceed 1.62 ounces or 45.93 grams. In general, the ball must have an spherically symmetrical shape, wherein the spherical and symmetrical arrangement of the dimples are somewhat consistent.
In terms of the surface area of the ball, most golf balls, if not all, include a plurality of dimples over the surface of the ball. The dimple surface enables the appropriate spinning, angle and velocity after the ball is struck with a club. The dimpled golf ball, as commonly used, simply travels far due to aerodynamic forces. Further back spins and other spins creating desired effect by the golfer are available with the dimpled golf ball. Most golf balls typically have 250 to 400 dimples.
In terms of color, the color of most golf balls is a solid white color usually with some type of identifying brand name and numbering to distinguish the balls during play. Some golf balls have been colored in yellow or other solid colors in order to have a unique playing experience and easier identification over the golf course.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a method of golf ball surface covering including the steps of: placing a dimple pattern over a surface of a golf ball, where the dimple pattern includes a plurality of dimples; and applying at least one color to each dimple. In one particular embodiment, each color applied to each dimple is unique. The present invention creates a golf ball surface cover that includes a plurality of dimples over the surface cover; and a color applied to each dimple provide over the surface cover.

FIG. 1 depicts a golf ball with a speckled dimple surface in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention is a golf ball that includes a colored dot within each dimple of the golf ball thus creating a uniquely colored golf ball and providing a unique golfing experience.
The speckle over the surface area is practical in some respect due to the ability to easily spot and distinguish a particular ball as opposed to the standard golf ball. Further the speckled golf ball is easy to differentiate due to the color scheme associated with the surface area covered by the dimples. In reference to FIG. 1, a multi-speckled golf ball in accordance with the present invention is depicted. Golf Ball 50 as shown in FIG. 1 shows a multiple dimpled golf ball in accordance with the present invention. Each dimple is shown in a plurality of dimples, 10 a, 10 b, 10 c, 10 d, 10 e where each include a separate and distinct color to create a multiple speckled colored golf ball. The multiple speckled colored golf ball creates a unique color pattern and an overall design of the golf ball to have a unique golfing experience. The golf ball 50 according to the present invention therefore includes unique color schemes for each golf ball manufactured. The colors are applied randomly within each dimple of the surface area, to creates a speckled color surface as opposed to a solid white, solid yellow or even some of the multi-colored golf balls which do not have such intricate color schemes as this particular invention. The common golf ball typically has 200 to 450 dimples. The present invention provides unique coloring for each respective dimple and therefore creates a unique golf ball and golf ball surface. Use of the present invention as a golf ball provides a golfer with a recognizable and unique golf ball that is easily distinguished from golf balls in the prior art. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A method of golf ball surface covering comprising the steps of:

a. placing a dimple pattern over a surface of a golf ball, where the dimple pattern includes a plurality of dimples; and

b. applying at least one color to each dimple.

2. The method of golf ball surface covering according to claim 1, where each color applied to each dimple is unique.

3. A golf ball surface cover comprising:

a. a plurality of dimples over the surface cover; and

b. a color applied to each dimple provide over the surface cover.
