  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This Invention is particularly directed to the Self Neck-Hair Grooming Tool (The Tool) which allows the user to shave, cut or trim his or her neck hair while creating a desired back neck-hairline.
  • A variety of haircutting and neck shaving devices are available, as shown in U.S. Pat. Nos. 1,385,722; 1,629,741 2,542,450; 2,698,018; 3,202,158: 3,407,823; 5,577,520 and 5,865,192. However, these devices suffer from various disadvantages so that they are either aimed at cutting someone else's hair or are not very effective in cutting a person's own neck hair. Furthermore, these available devises are hard to use, too complicated to put on and to adjust to the head of the user, not very effective in self grooming and creating a nice and straight back neck-hairline.
  • Also, for some of the available devices, the user has to hold the device while using it because it doesn't stay firmly in the desired place on the head and the neck.
  • Additionally, the available devices are either not flexible, not customizable, not adjustable or hard to adjust to the head shape and the desired shape and style of the back neck hair, so they don't provide the desired straight back neck hairline.
  • Therefore, there is a need for a template that can be easily put on the head in the desired location, in a simple, customizable, adjustable, efficient and practical way without the need for accessories, buckles, Velcro etc., and with no need to hold the device while using it.
  • In light of the described disadvantages of the current neck haircutting devices, this invention is a self back neck-hair grooming tool guide. The Tool is for self use, customizable, adjustable stays in the desired place on the back neck of the user.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The principal object of this invention is to provide a self neck-haircutting guide apparatus which allows a user to groom precisely his or her own back neck hair while creating a clear neck hairline by using a regular razor, hair trimmer, shaving machine, hair clipper, etc.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a self neck-haircutting guide apparatus which allows for either a straight or curved neck hairline.
  • An additional object of this invention is to provide a self neck-haircutting guide apparatus which allows for customized shapes of the back neck-hairline.
  • Also, an additional object of this invention is to provide a self back neck-haircutting guide apparatus which allows for a flexible, efficient, easy to adjust, easy to use tool. In summary, the main object of this invention is to provide a self neck-haircutting template apparatus which allows a person to accurately shave or trim his or her own hair on back of the neck. The device according to this invention includes a flexible, adjustable and customizable Template and Headband for securing the Template in the desired location on the back of the neck. The flexible Template is detachably mounted to the adjustable and flexible Headband at two ends of the Template.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • All the above, the objects, the novel features and advantages of this invention are presented and explained and become apparent in the detailed descriptions of this invention and from the attached drawings. Note, as explained, that the Template and the Headband are adjustable and customizable so they can have variety of shapes and sized. Additionally, as described, Opening in the template may have variety of shapes and sizes.
  • FIG. 1: A front perspective view of the one of the possible shapes of Self Neck-Hair Grooming Tool of the invention.
  • FIG. 2: A view of one of the possible shapes of the two components of the Self Neck-Hair Grooming Tool of the invention; the Template 1 and the Headband 2.
  • FIG. 3: The Self Neck-Hair Grooming Tool as shown in FIG. 1, placed on the back of the neck.
  • FIG. 4: Front view of the Self Neck-Hair Grooming Tool in which the Headband is on the ears.
  • FIG. 5: Front view of the Self Neck-Hair Grooming Tool in which the Headband is above
  • the ears.
  • FIG. 6: View of how the Headband 2 is threaded into the Template 1 and how to adjust the Headband 2 to the desired length.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • As best shown in FIG. 1, the Self Neck-Hair Grooming Tool apparatus of the present invention includes at least one flexible material Template 1 and at least one flexible elastic Headband 2.
  • The Template 1 is made of durable, waterproof material such as flexible plastic that can tolerate multiple usage without deteriorating. The material is flexible so it takes the shape of the head and neck while wearing The Tool. The Template 1 may have unlimited shapes because the material of the Template can be cut by scissors so the user can customize the Template to the desired shape.
  • The length of the Template 1 is about 4 to 12 inches. The width of the Template is at least ¼ inch. The thickness of the Template 1 is less than ½ inch.
  • The Template 1 has at least one Opening, such as slit 3 in FIG. 2, so at least one of the short ends of the Headband 2 can be threaded through the Opening as shown in FIG. 1 and better shown in FIG. 6.
  • The width of the Headband 2 usually is up to 4 inches, and the length of the Headband is usually more than 8 inches.
  • The size of the said Opening 3 is such so the said Headband 2 can be treaded forcefully through the said Opening 3 so The Tool won't get released when the user uses The Tool.
  • When the user wears this tool as shown in FIG. 3, so the user can shave, trim, cut or clip the back neck-hair along these guidelines.
  • When the user wears The Tool, due to the flexibility of the material of the Template 1, this Template takes the curvy shape of the head and the back of the neck so it stays tight on the head and the back neck.
  • The Headband 2 is for holding the Template 1 securely in the desired place, is usually made of an elastic material that attached to the Template without any accessories, buckle, tie, Velcro, etc.
  • While wearing The Tool, the user can shave, trim, cut or clip the neck-hair below the Template, so the Template is used as a guide or a stopper for the hair cutting tool. The surface of the Template covers the area where the user doesn't want to groom.
  • The user can wear The Tool on the ears and on the forehead as shown in FIG. 4.
  • Alternatively, the user can wear The Tool above the ears and on the forehead as shown in FIG. 5 or under the ears.
  • The user can adjust the length of the Headband, to reach the desired tightness, by sliding it through the Opening on one end of the Headband while holding the Template in another hand as shown in FIG. 6.
  • Use and Operation:
  • The user can self-trim or shave his/her hair along the back neck-hairline without the help of another person. The Tool is a guide or a stopper for trimming and shaving the neck hair by razor, hair trimmer, hair cutter or shaving machine.
  • After combing the hair downward, the user places the Template 1 on the back of the neck as shown in FIG. 3 so the Headband is around the head and on the forehead. The user can put the Headband on the ears as sown in FIG. 4 or above the ears as shown in FIG. 5 or below the ears.
  • Optimally, using 2 mirrors, the user can be sure that the Template is in the desired place, symmetrical and straight (horizontal), along the desired back neck hairline.
  • While using The Tool, the user can press on the Template with one hand against his or her head to be sure that it doesn't move while using it. Then, the user can shave, trim or cut the hair along the guidelines of the Template.
  • The Template may be clear, so the user can see his or her hair through the Template while using it.
  • This Tool may be waterproof so it can be used with shaving cream or water. When the user is done using The Tool, he or she can take the Template off the head, may wash The Tool if needed and reuse it.
  • As shown in FIG. 6, the elastic Headband 2 can be tightened or loosened to fit the head of the user, and to hold the Template 1 securely and tightly in the desired place on the head and the back neck.
  • The user can customize the shape of the Template by cutting the Template with scissors to make the desired shape.
