Abstract
Disclosed is a two piece closure caps for bottle containers having a threaded neck portion onto which the cap is intended to fit. More specifically, the bottle container is used for storing and dispensing pharmaceutical/medical product. The medical product is in the liquid form for ophthalmic and/or Ear related infections/disease.
Description
- The present invention relates generally to a two piece closure caps for bottle containers having a threaded neck portion onto which the cap is intended to fit. More specifically, the bottle container is used for storing and dispensing pharmaceutical/medical product. The medical product is in the liquid form for ophthalmic and/or Ear related infections/disease.
- Most standard bottle containers are usually provided with a single spiral thread at the neck portion to accommodate a twist-on cap. The prior art contains many suggestions for closure caps.
- It has been observed that there are various designs or construction of closure caps for bottle is available in the market for use in ophthalmic vials or Ear drop. When the vial is pressed by user, it results in the flow of liquid drug from the nozzle mouth of bottle container. This deflection of bottle resulted due to application of external pressure creates significant internal air pressure pushing the vial liquid forcing it to come out. Therefore, most of the times, the liquid drug comes out in excess of required amount and there is no control over the liquid quantity as it solely depends on the size and design of orifice, amount of pressure the liquid has undergone and the deflection of bottle. Deflection also depends on the material of construction of bottle. Hence, in totality, it results non uniform flow of liquid, wastage of liquid drug and over dispensing of liquid drug in the eye or ear.
- The inventors of the proposed invention identify that mainly the size and design of orifice of the bottle container and closure cap govern the entire dispensing phenomenon. So far, the flow of liquid from the bottle container or vial is not precisely quantified in any of the designs available in the prior art.
- According to the prior art, the closure cap for bottle having the traditional spiral thread on a standard bottle container do not have potential to store the drug without leakage and at the same time dispense correct amount of drug to the user.
- Therefore, the inventors believe that use of a specially designed cap on a standard bottle type closure, only when the cap is used in conjunction with an appropriately designed with structured neck portion could solve the above-identified problems. Hence, there is grave need to provide a bottle container along with closure cap, which can give accurate and uniform dispensing of liquid and at the same store the liquid leak proof In order to provide a leakage proof locking closure feature, it has heretofore been necessary to modify the closure caps for such bottle containers, which required not only a special design for the cap itself, but a compatible design and the safety feature for the neck portion of the container.
- It is accordingly a principal object of the present invention to provide a closure cap along with bottle container which overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art.
- Another objective of the present invention is to provide a closure cap along with bottle container overcome the problem of over dispensing of liquid drug and ensure safeguard to human eye/ear against many potential hazards.
- Yet another objective of the present invention is to provide a closure cap for bottle container which is capable to provide accurate and uniform dispensing of liquid and at the same store the liquid leak proof.
- Yet another objective of the present invention is to provide device pertains to the specific size and design of the orifice to give uniform quantity of each liquid drop oozing out from the vial.
- The present invention relates to closure caps for bottle containers having a threaded neck portion onto which the cap is intended to fit. More specifically, closure cap is basically two piece construction, wherein specific size and design of the orifice is provided in the first piece to give accurate and uniform quantity of each liquid drop from the bottle container and at the same time stopping means is provided in the second piece to ensure leak proof storage. The development of this particular device help to utilize the liquid efficiently with the control on the exact quantity required to be dispensed. It is an advanced design with better control and can be used widely with improved human comfort and care. The drop size depends on the dispensing quantity and viscosity of the liquid. The size of the orifice has to be specific for a particular dispensing quantity and particular liquid characteristics. The desired liquid output can be achieved for a specific fluid after studying the liquid properties and finalizing the orifice size. This new invention is widely applicable for any liquid for any desired output. The product of present invention bring safeguard to human eye or ear or against many potential hazards due to over dispensing.
