Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 61/676,780, filed Jul. 27, 2012, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a tiered beer pong device and, more particularly, to a device that provides elevated beer pong cups on multiple levels.
  • Beer pong is a drinking game in which players throw a ping pong ball across a table with the intent of landing the ball in a cup of beer on the other end. The game typically consists of two teams of two players each with six or ten cups set up in a triangle formation on each side. Each team then takes turns attempting to shoot ping pong balls into the opponent's cups. If a ball lands in a cup the contents of that cup are consumed by the other team and the cup is removed from the table. The first team to eliminate all of the opponent's cups is the winner. The current game of beer pong is played on a flat surface and therefore is two dimensional.
  • As can be seen, there is a need for a multi tiered beer pong device for enhanced play.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a tiered beer pong device comprises: at least one base having a substantially flat bottom to support the tiered beer pong device; at least a first tier and a second tier, wherein the first tier and the second tier are connected to and elevated above the at least one base by at least one riser, wherein the first tier comprises a first platform supported by the at least one riser and wherein the second tier comprises a second platform supported by the at least one riser, wherein a distance from the second platform to the base is greater than a distance from the first platform to the base.
  • These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken on line 3-3 of FIG. 1; and
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view similar to FIG. 1 showing the game ready to be played.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
  • Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a tiered beer pong device. The tiered beer pong device may include multiple leveled platforms to support beer pong cups. The device may include a base with at least a first platform and a second platform. The distance between the second platform and the base is greater than the distance between the first platform and the base. The platforms may include openings to fit beer pong cups.
  • The present invention may include a three dimensional device for placement of standard beer pong cups. The present invention may include elevated platforms for supporting cups in a three-dimensional representation of the triangular configuration used in traditional beer pong.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 through 4, the present invention may include a tiered beer pong device 10 for playing beer pong with ping pong balls 32. The tiered beer pong device 10 may include at least on base 12. The base 12 may have a substantially flat bottom to support the tiered beer pong device 10. The tiered beer pong device 10 may include at least a first tier 14 and a second tier 16. The first tier 14 and the second tier 16 may be connected to and elevated above the base 12 by at least one riser 14 b. In certain embodiments, the first tier 14 may include a first platform 14 a and the second tier 16 may include a second platform 16 a. The platforms 14 a, 16 a, may be supported by the riser 14 b. The distance from the second platform 16 a to the base 10 is greater than the distance from the first platform 14 a to the base 10.
  • As illustrated in the figures, the first tier 14 may include a pair of risers 14 b that support the first platform 14 a. In certain embodiments, the first platform 14 a may include an opening 14 c to form a cup holder. The second tier 16 may also include a pair of risers 16 b that support the second platform 16 a. In certain embodiments, the second platform 14 a may include two openings 16 c to form two cup holders. The cup holders may fit standard beer pong cups 30.
  • In certain embodiments, the present invention may further include a third tier 18. The third tier 18 may include a pair of risers 18 b that support a third platform 18 a. In certain embodiments, the third platform 18 b may include three openings 18 c to form three cup holder. The cup holders may fit standard beer pong cups 30. The distance from the third platform 18 a to the base 10 is larger than the distance from the second platform 16 a to the base 10.
  • The present invention may include one attached unit including a single base 12. However, the present invention may further include multiple detached units that may be but together to form the tiered beer pong device 10. In such embodiments, there may be more than one base 12. As illustrated in the figures, the present invention may include a second base 13. The second base 13 of the present invention may be placed behind the first base 12 to form an extended tiered beer pong device 10. Each tier may include its own base 12, 13, may be part of the same base 12, or a combination thereof.
