Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Fields of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a steel rail clip assembly, especially to a steel rail clip assembly that avoids the falling of the clips caused by vibration of trains or malicious damage, knocking on railways so as to ensure the safety of train traffic services and reduce the risk of related property losses and injuries. Thus the practical value of the steel rail clip assembly is improved.
  • 2. Descriptions of Related Art
  • Trains with features of high speed and large capacity are a common and popular tool for long distance transportation. The train can only move along rail tracks smoothly.
  • The rail track made of steel is fixed on a cross tie by a clip. The shape of the clip is like the letter “e” while being viewed from a certain angle so as to be called the e-shaped clip. The clip is produced by bending of a metal bar and is composed of a straight insertion rod, a cross part that bends from one side of the insertion rod to the other side, and a press part connected with the cross part. While using the clip to fix the steel rail on the cross tie, the insertion rod of the clip is inserted into a locating hole arranged at an anchoring member on two sides of the steel rail and the cross part of the clip crosses the anchoring member and presses against it. At the same time, the press part of the clip presses wing plates on two sides of the bottom of the steel rail.
  • However, there is no design that prevents loosening of the clip. Thus during movement of trains, the displacement or even falling of the clip resulted from vibration occurs frequently and this could jeopardize the safety of people on the train. Moreover, the clip is easily disassembled. The clip may be disassembled and sold or damaged and destroyed by malicious people. The safety of the train is also affected. Thus bolts or pins are used to be disposed and fixed outside the insertion rod of the clip so as to prevent the clip from falling off or being removed easily.
  • Although the above way by using bolts or pins to fix the outer end of the insertion rod of the clip can reduce falling or disassembling of the clip, there are certain problems in use. The bolts threaded or pin inserted on the outer end of the insertion rod can only extend disassembling time of the clip. Bad people can still disassemble the clips by simple tools so that the train may leave the tracks and get damaged that are jeopardizing the safety of passengers. Thus there is a need to improve the design of the clips that fix the steel rails.
  • Thus there is a need to provide a steel rail clip assembly that improves above shortcomings and has a high practical value.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Therefore it is a primary object of the present invention to provide a steel rail clip assembly in which a clip is covered and located by the locating member so that the clip cannot be removed easily without special tools. The steel rail clip assembly can prevent falling of the clip of the steel rail caused by vibration of trains or malicious damage, knocking on railways so as to ensure the safety of train traffic services and reduce the risk of related property losses and injuries. The practical value of the steel rail clip assembly in use is increased.
  • In order to achieve above object, the steel rail clip assembly of the present invention includes a clip and a locating member. A locating slot is formed concavely on an outer edge of an insertion rod of the clip while the locating member includes an inner bushing and an outer bushing. The inner bushing consists of a plurality of curved pieces arranged correspondingly, a locating block arranged projectively at an inner surface of the inner bushing and corresponding to the locating slot on the outer edge of the insertion rod, and a locking projecting part formed on an outer edge of the inner bushing. The inner bushing is mounted to the outer bushing. An inner edge of the outer bushing is disposed with a locking concave part that corresponds to the locking projecting part on the outer edge of the inner bushing.

  • With reference of FIG. 3, the clip 1 that looks like the letter “e” or “PR” viewed from a certain angle is formed by a bent metal bar. The clip 1 consists of at least one straight insertion rod 11, a cross part 12 bending from one side of the insertion rod 11 to the other side of the insertion rod 11, and a press part 13 connected with the cross part 12. The lowest portions of the clip 1 are positioned on two sides of the cross part 12. Moreover, no matter viewed from the top side or the bottom side, the cross part 12 crosses both sides of the insertion rod 11. A bevel 111 is formed on an outer end of the insertion rod 11 and a locating slot 112 is mounted concavely on an outer edge of the insertion rod 11.
  • The locating member 2 is composed of an inner bushing 21 and an outer bushing 22. The inner bushing 21 includes a plurality of curved pieces 211 arranged correspondingly. A locating block 212 corresponding to the locating slot 112 on an outer edge of the insertion rod 11 is arranged projectively at an inner surface of the inner bushing 21 and a locking projecting part 213 is formed on an outer edge of the inner bushing 21. The outer edge of the inner bushing 21 is tapered from the locking projecting part 213 toward the other end of the inner bushing 21 at an angle ranging from 1 to 3 degrees. Due to the bevel 111 on the outer end of the insertion rod 11, the insertion rod 11 is smoothly mounted into the locating hole 41. The cross part 12 of the clip 1 crosses and presses the anchoring member 4 while the press part 13 of the clip 1 also rests against a buffer pad 5 arranged at a wing plate 31 on each side of the bottom of the steel rail 3. Now the locating slot 112 on the insertion rod 11 of the clip 1 is just out of the locating hole 41 of the anchoring member 4. Use the inner bushing 21 of the locating member 2 to cover the exposed insertion rod 11 of the clip 1 and the locating block 212 on the inner surface of the inner bushing 21 is correspondingly locked and mounted to the locating slot 112 on the outer edge of the insertion rod 11. Then the outer bushing 22 of the locating member 2 covers the inner bushing 21 and the locking concave part 221 arranged at the inner edge of the outer bushing 22 is correspondingly locked and fixed in the locking projecting part 213 on the outer edge of the inner bushing 21. Also refer to FIG. 7, the clip 1 is located by the locating member 2. Without special tools, the clip 1 cannot be removed easily. Therefore, the steel rail 3 can be fixed firmly on a preset position, as shown in FIG. 8.
  • In summary, compared with the structure available now, the present invention uses the locating member to locate and fix the clip. Thus the clip will not be removed easily without special tools. The falling of the clip caused by vibration of trains or malicious damage on railways can be avoided. Thus the safety of the train and their passengers is ensured.
